Senior Frontend (FE) Engineer

Class8 is building a suite of products to help trucking companies better run their business, and help them connect with freight opportunities through brokerages and other data partners. Our team works with real-time, big data across thousands of trucks, and creates apps across multiple surface areas including mobile, desktop, and embedded vehicles.

In This Role, You Will:

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and document scalable, high-quality web and mobile applications with a strong focus on frontend architecture and user experience.
• Own frontend features and initiatives end-to-end, from technical planning and architecture through implementation, testing, and release.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Engineering Leads, and other stakeholders to translate requirements and designs into high-quality experiences.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews, architectural discussions, technical planning, and mentoring of other engineers.
• Identify technical improvements, refactoring opportunities, and areas where frontend architecture or development processes can be improved.
• Use an AI-first approach to development, leveraging AI to accelerate implementation while maintaining strong ownership, judgment, and understanding of the code produced.
• Use AI to improve engineering workflows and processes, including PR reviews, code cleanup, documentation, testing, and other repetitive or time-consuming tasks.

You’re Right For The Role If You Have These Skills:

Required:

• 5+ years of full stack development experience
• Proficient with ReactJS/NextJS, TypeScript, React Native, and modern frontend libraries, frameworks, and tooling
• Proven experience building polished, user-focused web and mobile experiences and translating designs into high-quality, maintainable code
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, performance optimization, responsive design, and accessibility
• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field
• A passion for continuous improvement and finding better ways to build, ship, and maintain software
• AI-first mindset with the ability to use AI effectively to accelerate development while maintaining ownership and understanding of the code you produce
• Comfortable using AI to improve engineering workflows and processes, including PR reviews, code cleanup, documentation, testing, and other repetitive tasks

Bonus If You Have:

• Experience with building browser extensions
