Staff AI Product Engineer

Deeply is building a Relationship Operating System for couples — an AI agent that helps couples turn what matters into shared understanding, constructive action, follow-through, and real relationship improvement.

We’re looking for an exceptional product engineer who wants to help invent the product, not just implement tickets.

What you’ll do

You’ll own important customer outcomes end-to-end:

user problem → product model → UX → architecture → implementation → real-world usage

You’ll work across the stack: React/Next.js, backend/domain logic, Postgres/Supabase, AI agents, SMS, notifications, background jobs, memory, and product instrumentation.

You’ll also work directly from customer evidence: understand where couples get stuck, decide what should change, ship it, watch what happens, and keep iterating until it works.

What we’re looking for

You:

• Have exceptional agency and ownership.
• Are a strong full-stack engineer with strong product judgment.
• Can take a vague goal and independently figure out what needs to exist.
• Think in systems, not isolated features.
• Naturally simplify, reuse, consolidate, and delete.
• Are highly effective with AI coding tools without outsourcing your judgment to them.
• Are comfortable challenging assumptions, including the founder’s.
• Care deeply about UX, language, trust, and human behavior.
• Move extremely fast once the problem is understood.

You probably won’t enjoy this role if you want detailed specs, stable requirements, narrow ownership, or your responsibility to end when the PR merges.
