About Vitalize's Platform Team

Platform encompasses everything from infrastructure that takes the app from localhost to production, to the developer tooling that allows our developers to focus on product, to the security that keeps our customers’ data safe, to much, much more. The platform team at Vitalize is unique in that we get to decide and own what it means to adopt AI in our workflows. Our job extends beyond traditional DevOps and into AI leadership. This means setting the AI roadmap for the Engineering (and broader) organization: deciding what workflows to bet on and what tools to incorporate.

The Role

We are hiring our second platform team member! The role starts with fundamentals of cloud infrastructure like AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform. Building on that is a deep understanding of common infrastructure patterns like cybersecurity, observability, and CI/CD. Finally, it expands to include developer tooling and building internal apps and features that extend beyond the engineering team (e.g. internal agent workflows, onboarding tools, etc.). This means: AWS/EKS -> Vanta/Grafana/Buildkite -> React/Effect/Bun.

What You'll Do

• Own CI/CD end to end: pipeline code, test orchestration, deploy safety, preview environments (we use Buildkite + self-hosted runners)
• Maintain our EKS cluster (along with the AWS infrastructure that supports it)
• Build developer tooling with internal stakeholders at the forefront
• Own what observability means: What are the right tools? What’s the best way to get alerts? How do we get the right data to the right people at the right time?
• Maintain a strong security and compliance posture across all services, both internal and external
• Lead AI adoption across Engineering: decide which agent workflows to integrate, which tools to adopt, and build and maintain custom solutions for stakeholders across the organization

• Extend beyond traditional Infra/DevOps to include:

  • Product analytics capture and analysis - working directly with product managers to communicate this information upward
  • Supporting the data science team - helping build and maintain data pipelines to share critical information with leadership & customers
