Our client is a leading financial services organization investing in the continued growth of its digital assets and tokenization capabilities. The organization is expanding a newly established team focused on supporting strategic blockchain use cases and proof-of-concept initiatives.

About this opportunity:

On behalf of our client, we’re seeking a Smart Contract Engineer to join a newly forming digital assets team. This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on reviewing and validating third-party smart contracts, assessing contract architecture and security, and supporting tokenization-focused initiatives.

Rather than solely developing smart contracts from the ground up, this individual will evaluate existing contracts, understand their technical and business implications, identify potential risks, and recommend more secure or efficient implementation approaches.

What You’ll Do: Review and validate third-party smart contracts for functionality, security, performance, and alignment with business requirements.

• Assess smart contract architecture, design patterns, contract behavior, and potential technical or operational risks.
• Recommend improvements, security enhancements, and more efficient smart contract implementation approaches.
• Support tokenization initiatives, digital asset use cases, and blockchain-focused proof-of-concept development.
• Develop, test, maintain, and optimize smart contracts when required.
• Apply defensive development practices, secure coding principles, and the Principle of Least Privilege within blockchain environments.

What You Bring: Approximately 3 or more years of hands-on smart contract engineering or development experience.

• Real-world experience developing, reviewing, testing, or maintaining production-grade or near-production smart contracts.
• Strong experience with smart contract architecture, security, testing, and contract validation practices.
• Proficiency with Solidity is strongly preferred.
• Experience with DAML is highly valued, with additional consideration given to experience within the Solana ecosystem.
• Familiarity with at least one additional smart contract or blockchain development language, such as Rust, Move, Vyper, Cairo, or Clarity.
• Strong understanding of ERC standards, token types, and common smart contract patterns.
• Experience with digital assets, tokenization, Web3 platforms, decentralized applications, or blockchain consulting engagements.
• Familiarity with smart contract testing frameworks and blockchain development best practices.
• Understanding of decentralized architecture patterns, including state management, gas optimization, and contract upgrade considerations.
• Knowledge of smart contract vulnerabilities, MEV-related risks, and applicable mitigation strategies.
