Technical Program Manager - Data Engineering

Videris is seeking a Technical Program Manager with 15+ years of experience to lead a large-scale data
transformation for a US Telecom client. This is a hands-on role requiring a leader who remains technically involved in the architectural design and data reconciliation phases of the program. You will manage the end-to-end delivery of data assets on Snowflake, acting as the primary point of contact between the engineering team and
the client.

Key Responsibilities

Discovery Orchestration: Direct the deconstruction of legacy pipelines to define core business logic. Provide technical oversight to identify logic gaps or 'dead nodes' that engineers may overlook during their primary analysis.

Functional Slicing & Integration: Break down monolithic legacy flows into manageable work packages. Ensure that triaged sub-projects are cohesively reintegrated for final reconciliation, preventing 'tribal knowledge' silos within the team.

Execution in Ambiguous Environments: Maintain delivery momentum when requirements are incomplete. Drive the discovery process with the client and engineering team to resolve technical unknowns while meeting milestones.

Hands-On Technical Leadership

SQL Reconciliation (RECON): Lead the data integrity effort by writing and executing complex SQL queries to validate coverage. Roll up sleeves to debug bottlenecks or assist engineers in interpreting cryptic flows during critical delivery windows.

Design and Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify design risks in the data model or transformation logic. Review pipelines and debug technical bottlenecks alongside the engineering team when necessary to maintain schedule.

Quality Oversight: Conduct design and code reviews to ensure the implementation is scalable, re-runnable, and adheres to the defined architecture.

Client & Program Management
Technical Stakeholder Engagement: Manage technical discussions with the client, providing operational updates and solutioning design issues in real-time.

Milestone Delivery: Coordinate cross-functional workstreams to ensure on-time delivery. Manage client expectations regarding technical trade-offs and project scope.

Resource and Triage Management: Ensure team members are unblocked and that integrated workstreams are cohesive and aligned with the final program objectives.

Technical Qualifications

• 15+ Years of Experience: Track record of delivering large-scale data warehousing or legacy modernization programs, preferably in the Telecom sector.
• Advanced SQL Proficiency: Hands-on ability to write and interpret complex SQL for the purposes of audit, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
• Snowflake & Modern Data Stack: Architectural knowledge of Snowflake, dbt, and Matillion. Understanding of how these tools integrate to build scalable ELT pipelines.
• Data Archaeology Background: Experience reverse-engineering business logic from undocumented or cryptic legacy systems.
• Delivery Frameworks: Experience with Agile or hybrid delivery models, with a focus on adapting process to fit technical project constraints.

Education & Certifications
▪ Preferred Background: Prior experience as a Data Engineer, Data Architect, or Solutions Architect
▪ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s/MBA is preferred but secondary to technical delivery experience.
