About the job
Full-Time | India | Remote | Directly Supporting Founder & Family Office
The Role
I am looking for a highly capable, resourceful Family Office Operations Manager to help manage a diverse set of business, investment, financial, property, and family-office priorities.
This is not a traditional Executive Assistant role, and it is not purely a strategy or investment role.
You will work directly with me across multiple areas: investments, real estate, new business ventures, a growing dental platform, banking and financial administration, India-related matters, charitable initiatives, properties, travel, vendors, and selected personal/family projects.
The common thread is simple: things need to get figured out and completed.
I need someone who can take an unclear problem, determine what needs to happen, find the right people or information, present sensible options, and then drive it through completion.
What You Will Work On
- Family Office & Financial Operations
You will help coordinate and track matters involving:
- Investments and investment opportunities
- Banking and financial administration
- Account opening, documentation, remittances, and follow-ups
- Coordination with accountants, lawyers, bankers, wealth managers, and other advisors
- Insurance and important financial documents
- Entity and compliance-related matters
- Charitable/foundation projects
- India and U.S. financial administration
- Maintaining organized records of important assets, accounts, entities, contacts, and deadlines
You are not expected to personally provide legal, tax, or investment advice. Your job is to make sure the right experts are involved, questions get answered, decisions are documented, and nothing falls through the cracks.
- Investments, Real Estate & New Ventures
Projects may include:
- Researching potential investments
- First-pass financial analysis and underwriting
- Real estate opportunities
- Evaluating businesses for acquisition
- Building acquisition target lists
- Finding brokers, lenders, operators, lawyers, or other specialists
- Comparing financing alternatives
- Researching new business ideas
- Preparing concise decision memos
- Tracking deals from initial idea through decision and execution
Strong financial skills are helpful, but intellectual curiosity and the ability to learn quickly matter more.
- DSO & Business Projects
I am building several businesses and initiatives, including a dental platform.
Projects could include:
- Dental practice acquisition research
- DSO/MSO development
- Market research
- Competitive research
- Financial modeling
- Recruiting executives or operators
- Finding acquisition targets
- Coordinating diligence
- Working with outside advisors
- Following up on important business initiatives
You will not be responsible for running the day-to-day operations of my existing companies. This role sits primarily on the owner/family-office side.
- Personal & Family Operations
This is an explicit part of the position.
Projects may include:
- Managing projects related to family properties
- Coordinating contractors, interior designers, vendors, or property managers
- Major purchases and vendor comparisons
- Travel research and coordination
- Handling documentation and administrative matters
- Coordinating family-related projects
- Solving unusual one-off problems
These are not “side tasks.” They are part of managing a family office.
If you are interested only in corporate strategy and consider personal or administrative execution beneath you, this role will not be a good fit.
- Project Management & Follow-Through
One of your most important responsibilities will be creating order around many simultaneous projects.
You will maintain a simple Family Office Control Center showing:
- Active projects
- Next action
- Owner
- Deadline
- Current status
- Blockers
- Decisions required from me
I should not have to repeatedly ask:
“Whatever happened with that?”
You should already know.
How We Will Work Together
I operate quickly and often have many projects moving simultaneously.
Sometimes I will give you a well-defined assignment.
Other times I may simply say:
“Figure out how we can accomplish this.”
You should be comfortable turning that into a structured project.
I do not want lengthy reports unless they are necessary. I prefer:
Problem → Options → Recommendation → Cost → Next Step
When something can be handled without me, handle it.
When you need a decision from me, make the decision easy.
Working Hours
This role is based in India and is not a U.S. night-shift position.
Most work can be completed during reasonable India working hours.
However, because you will work directly with me in the United States, some overlap is necessary.
You should be comfortable with:
- Flexible working hours
- Occasional evening calls
- Being available up to approximately 1:00 AM IST when necessary for important discussions or urgent matters
This does not mean working until 1:00 AM every day.
The role is primarily outcome-driven rather than clock-driven. I care much more about ownership, responsiveness, and execution than watching someone sit online for eight particular hours.
Who I Am Looking For
You will probably be unusually good at this job if you:
- Are extremely organized
- Follow through relentlessly
- Write and communicate clearly
- Are comfortable speaking with senior professionals
- Can research unfamiliar subjects quickly
- Understand basic financial statements and Excel
- Can compare alternatives logically
- Know when to research something yourself and when to find an expert
- Are comfortable managing several unrelated projects simultaneously
- Don’t need detailed instructions for every task
- Are willing to pick up the phone and solve problems
- Can respectfully challenge an idea when the facts don’t support it
- Protect confidential information
- Have excellent judgment
Experience in family offices, investment banking, consulting, PE/VC, founder’s offices, real estate, finance, or high-level operations is useful but not mandatory.
Exceptional execution ability matters more than pedigree.
What This Role Is NOT
This is not:
- A traditional personal assistant position
- Pure investment banking
- Pure private equity
- Pure corporate strategy
- A research-only job
- A job where someone gives you a checklist every morning
It is a hybrid Family Office + Investments + Special Projects + Personal Operations role.
Some days you may analyze an acquisition.
Another day you may resolve an India banking issue.
The next day you may coordinate a property project, evaluate an investment, find a specialist, or help plan a new business.
That variety is the job.
What Success Looks Like
After 90 days:
- I have one reliable place to see every important family-office project.
- Important deadlines aren’t being missed.
- Projects continue moving without me constantly following up.
- Advisors and vendors receive timely responses.
- Research comes back with conclusions rather than piles of information.
- Problems reach me with proposed solutions.
- My involvement shifts increasingly toward decisions rather than administration.
Ultimately, I am looking for someone who becomes the person I can say:
“Please own this.”
And then stop worrying about it.
Application
Please send:
- Your résumé or LinkedIn profile.
- A short introduction explaining why this unusual role interests you.
- One example of a complicated project you personally drove from ambiguity to completion.
- Your current and expected compensation.
- Your current location in India.
- Your notice period / earliest possible start date.
- Whether you are comfortable occasionally being available until approximately 1:00 AM IST.
