About the job
About Magi
Magi helps teams build AI-native marketing engines.
We're building an operating model for the future of marketing. We combine BrandOS, Agentic AI, and full-stack operators to keep marketing flowing in a continuous rhythm, so your marketing is always on-brand and driving real outcomes.
We're a team with deep experience in AI, SaaS, and B2B, and we're building the operating layer for the next generation of marketing teams.
Role Overview
Magi is building at the intersection of AI, product, and marketing.
We design systems that combine frontend experiences, backend infrastructure, and agentic AI workflows.
This role is for someone with builder's taste. Someone who builds end to end, thinks across the system instead of one file or one feature, and is curious about how AI, product, and marketing fit together.
Your main focus is our content editor, a rich-text editor where people write, edit, and work alongside AI. You'll improve the features it has and build new ones. You'll also look for better ways to solve known problems, and bring us ideas we haven't thought of.
A lot of this is open-ended. As AI becomes a bigger part of the editor, one question keeps coming up: when a person and AI work on the same document at the same time, what should that feel like? That question shapes what you'll build here.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve existing features in the content editor and build new ones
- Find better ways to solve the editor's current problems
- Keep the editor fast and dependable as it grows
- Document how the editor works, starting with the parts nobody has written down yet
- Build the ways a person and AI work together inside the editor: reviewing, steering, accepting, undoing
- Suggest what the editor should do next, and prototype the ideas worth testing
- Help decide what we build, as well as how
Qualifications and Attributes
- Comfortable with Python and TypeScript / JavaScript
- Has built interactive product UI rather than marketing sites: editors, canvases, dashboards, anything with real state to manage
- Has worked with LLMs beyond following a tutorial, frontier or open source
- Uses AI tools in their own coding workflow, and uses them well
- Has taste, and opinions to back it up
- Thinks about how the whole system fits together
- Writes things down, and keeps their work organized enough that others can pick it up
- Reasons from first principles
- Strong ownership mindset
- Comfortable with open questions and moving fast
- Interested in the business and marketing context behind what they build
Framework experience is flexible, though we do want real frontend experience with React and Next.js. We care more about how you think than the exact stack you've used.
Nice to Have (Bonus)
- Worked with TipTap, ProseMirror, or similar editor frameworks
- Built real-time or collaborative features (CRDTs, Yjs, multiplayer state)
- Built agents, or agentic and multi-step AI workflows
- Shipped personal projects
- Used AI for writing or content enough to know where those tools break down. Non-technical use counts
Why Magi?
- High ownership and responsibility
- Freedom to experiment and build
- Direct impact on real product and business
