Staff Frontend Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a sharp, driven Frontend Engineer to join a fast-moving team, building the UI for a sophisticated financial data platform. You will build interactive web applications that allow our users to understand and build upon the structured data that we extract from their complex finance documents.

As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you'll help set technical direction for Nammu21's frontend. You'll work closely with product, design, and backend engineers, and be the person others come to when a frontend decision has cross-cutting implications. This is a senior IC role with no direct reports, though you will mentor engineers and influence both hiring and technical standards.

Reports to: Director of Engineering

What You'll Do

• Architect, build, and support the frontend within our growing application suite
• Work with Product and Design to define and refine requirements, transforming specs and wireframes into user-friendly, intuitive applications
• Collaborate with Backend Engineers to interact with the necessary services and create performant, scalable applications
• Operate in an Agile environment, using modern project management practices

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 8+ years of experience in a start-up, financial institution, or technology company
• Experience owning and designing Frontend architecture
• Strong experience in React and Typescript
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

You are:

• Self-directed and driven. You are able to operate independently and without much guidance
• A clear written and oral communicator who can work well across technical and non-technical teams
• Organized, adaptable, and excel at working in a fast-paced and constrained environment
• Someone who has strong ideas, but is also amenable to feedback

Nice to have:

• Experience working with financial data and clients
• Experience with AWS, GitLab
• Experience with QA systems (e.g. Cypress, Playwright)
• Experience working with GraphQL
