About Balcony
Balcony is building the modern operating system for property and land intelligence.
Governments rely on fragmented systems, disconnected records, and decades-old software to manage trillions of dollars in property-related decisions. We’re changing that.
Our platform unifies property data, land records, documents, GIS, and public information into a single, intelligent system that helps governments operate with greater transparency, efficiency, and trust.
We believe software infrastructure is one of the most powerful tools available to strengthen public trust. We’re building the foundation for that future.
The Role
We’re looking for exceptional Frontend Engineers who care deeply about both design and engineering and will help invent our Keystone product.
You’ll work directly with product, design, and engineering leadership to explore ideas, prototype new workflows, and turn complex systems into intuitive, high-performance experiences.
You’ll have significant influence over how our products look, feel, and function.
What You’ll Do
- Design and build product experiences from concept through production.
- Prototype ideas in code to explore new interactions, workflows, and product directions.
- Create elegant interfaces for complex data, documents, maps, and AI-powered workflows.
- Own critical frontend architecture decisions including component systems, state management, rendering strategies, and performance.
- Collaborate closely with backend, platform, and data teams to deliver end-to-end product capabilities.
- Improve reliability, observability, accessibility, and overall product quality.
- Help define the technical and design standards that shape the future of the platform.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong frontend engineering experience building production web applications.
- Excellent product intuition and a demonstrated eye for interaction design, usability, and craft.
- Deep understanding of modern frontend architecture, performance, and scalable UI systems.
- Experience with React, TypeScript, modern web frameworks, and component-driven development.
- Ability to move fluidly between design thinking and implementation.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and helping define solutions before requirements are fully formed.
- A builder mindset with a strong bias toward shipping.
Bonus Points
- Experience building data-intensive products, developer tools, GIS applications, enterprise software, or AI-native experiences.
- Experience with design systems and interaction prototyping.
- Familiarity with mapping, visualization, or geospatial technologies.
- Experience working in high-growth startups or early-stage environments.
