*Role Summary *
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, containerization, CI/CD, automation, and production operations. The candidate should have strong practical experience with AWS, Amazon EKS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Linux, Git, and monitoring. The ideal candidate should be comfortable troubleshooting production issues, automating repetitive tasks, maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and working closely with development and QA teams to improve deployment reliability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
● Design, implement, and maintain reliable and scalable infrastructure on AWS.
● Manage and troubleshoot containerized workloads running on Amazon EKS.
● Build, maintain, and optimize Docker images and Docker Compose configurations.
● Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
● Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform.
● Deploy and manage applications using Kubernetes and Helm.
● Implement and maintain monitoring, dashboards, alerts, and observability using Prometheus and Grafana.
● Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, networking, and production issues.
● Automate repetitive operational and infrastructure tasks using Bash, Python, or other scripting/programming languages.
● Maintain source code and infrastructure configurations using Git and GitHub.
● Apply security best practices across AWS, Kubernetes, containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
● Participate in incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and preventive actions.
● Collaborate with developers and QA engineers to improve application deployment, scalability, and reliability.
● Maintain documentation for infrastructure, deployment processes, and operational procedures.
Must-Have Skills
AWS & Amazon EKS
● Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud and Amazon EKS.
● Practical knowledge of EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, ECR, Load Balancers, and CloudWatch.
● Understanding of EKS node groups, networking, scaling, IAM integration, and troubleshooting.
● Understanding of AWS security groups, IAM roles/policies, and basic cloud networking.
Docker & Docker Compose
● Hands-on experience with Dockerfiles, images, containers, volumes, and container networking.
● Understanding of multi-stage Docker builds and image optimization.
● Experience using Docker Compose for multi-container applications.
Kubernetes
● Hands-on experience with Pods, Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Namespaces, and Ingress.
● Understanding of resource requests/limits, health checks, scaling, and application configuration.
● Ability to troubleshoot common Kubernetes workload and deployment issues.
Helm
● Hands-on experience deploying and upgrading applications using Helm.
● Understanding of Helm charts, values, releases, and environment-specific configurations.
CI/CD
● Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or an equivalent CI/CD platform.
● Understanding of automated build, test, Docker image creation, deployment, and rollback workflows.
● Experience managing deployments across development, staging, and production environments.
Terraform
● Hands-on experience provisioning and managing infrastructure using Terraform.
● Understanding of variables, outputs, modules, state, and remote state management.
Linux & Scripting
● Strong Linux fundamentals and hands-on troubleshooting experience.
● Understanding of processes, services, permissions, filesystems, networking, and logs.
● Good Bash/Shell scripting skills for automation and operational tasks.
Git & GitHub
● Strong understanding of Git workflows, including branching, pull requests, merging, and rebasing. ● Experience with tags, releases, and basic GitHub repository and branch management.
Monitoring & Observability
● Hands-on experience with Prometheus and Grafana is required.
● Ability to create and maintain Grafana dashboards.
● Working knowledge of PromQL and Kubernetes/infrastructure metrics.
● Understanding of alerting, alert rules, metrics, logs, and production troubleshooting.
Networking
● Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, ports, routing, and subnets/CIDR.
● Understanding of load balancers, NAT, firewalls/security groups, and basic connectivity troubleshooting. Security
● Understanding of IAM and least-privilege access.
● Experience with secrets and credential management.
● Basic understanding of TLS/SSL, container security, Kubernetes security, and secure CI/CD practices.
Programming & Automation
● Working knowledge of at least one programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript. ● Ability to write automation scripts and small utilities and understand application configuration.
Good-to-Have Skills
● Argo CD / GitOps
● ELK / OpenSearch
● Ansible
● Container vulnerability scanning and image security tools
● AWS cost optimization
● High Availability and Disaster Recovery concepts
● Production incident management and on-call experience
Candidate Profile
● 3+ years of practical DevOps.
● Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
● Able to independently investigate and resolve common production issues.
● Able to explain the reasoning behind infrastructure, deployment, and monitoring decisions.
● Comfortable working with developers, QA engineers, and infrastructure teams.
● Good communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
● Strong willingness to learn and continuously improve automation, reliability, and operational processes.
