About the job
Read this before you apply
Most job posts are written to attract everyone. This one is written to find one kind of person: a sharp ad copywriter who's tired of writing into the void and wants to own the outcome.
DigiCom is a two-time Inc. 5000 performance marketing agency based in NYC. We scale D2C and e-commerce brands on paid channels, and our clients pay us because their revenue is our scoreboard.
Here's the honest pitch. If you've written ad copy for a while, you know the frustration: you craft the hook, hand it off, and never really learn if it worked — or you're one voice buried under a brand team. This role is the opposite. You research the customer, develop the angles, brief the creative, and then you watch your ideas go live and see exactly how they performed. Your work, your outcome, on a scoreboard.
We'll teach you the performance side. You bring the writing and the research instinct; our media team and your Growth Manager get you fluent in the data. What can't be taught is the nose for what makes someone stop scrolling and buy — that part has to already be in you.
This is not a design or editing job — you'll direct designers and editors, not become one. And it's not a content-calendar job — it's direct-response creative built to sell.
Only apply if you have:
- 2+ years writing ad or direct-response copy for D2C, e-commerce, or consumer brands — copy meant to sell, not just to sound nice.
- A real research habit. You dig into reviews, competitors, and customer language to find the angle, not just the words.
- Fluent written and spoken English. You'll work in real time with a US team.
- Full-time availability on US Eastern hours.
You do not need prior performance-marketing or media-buying experience. If you can write copy that converts and you're hungry to learn how it performs, we'll handle the rest.
What you'll do
- Research & competitor teardowns. Mine reviews, Reddit, TikTok, and the Meta Ad Library for real pain points and desire triggers. Build persona maps for the brands you own.
- Angles & briefing. Turn insight into complete creative briefs — hook variations, visual direction, scripts, on-screen text — that an editor can build without a single follow-up question. One brief should spark several distinct ads, not one with a color swap.
- Learn the performance loop. Sit with your Growth Manager each week to see which hooks, angles, and formats won, and feed that straight into the next round. This is where you pick up the data side, fast.
- Own the quality bar. QC every asset before it goes live. Your name is on the output.
- Use the full AI stack. Accelerate research, ideation, and variations. Build your own workflows and share what works.
Why you'll want this
- See your work perform. Most copywriters never learn if their words landed. Here you'll see spend, hooks, and results across many brands every week — years of pattern recognition in months.
- Real ownership. Your Growth Manager owns the client and the calls. Your time goes into the thinking.
- A transparent scoreboard. You'll always know exactly where you stand — no politics, no mystery, no review that arrives six months late. Strong strategists earn well above base through quarterly bonuses.
- Ground floor. This is the first creative strategy team we've built. The people who define it will lead it.
The honest part
Shipping isn't winning. An idea only counts here when it actually scales — when the media buyers put real budget behind it because it's working. We measure that on a clear scorecard, reviewed quarterly. And the pace is real: once you're ramped, the baseline is 15–20 briefs a week across several brands. Volume is part of the strategy, never at the cost of the thinking behind it.
If that sounds like pressure, it is. If it sounds like the place you finally get to prove your ideas win, apply.
What you need
Non-negotiable: 2+ years writing conversion-focused ad copy · a genuine research habit · fluent written and spoken English · full-time on US Eastern hours · daily hands-on use of AI tools · real hunger to move into performance creative.
We'll teach you: reading performance data (CPA, ROAS, hook rate, hold rate), how Meta's delivery rewards creative volume, and the mechanics of testing and scaling.
Nice to have: experience with supplements, beauty, pet, or CPG brands · basic CapCut or Premiere · directing UGC creators · TikTok Ads.
How you work
Curious about why people buy. Fast — you move in hours, not days. Detail-obsessed, because a sloppy brief makes a sloppy ad. Coachable, taking direct feedback and applying it immediately. Self-driven, because remote means nobody's watching and you deliver anyway. Competitive — you want your ads to be the ones that scale.
Compensation
$1,500 USD per month, plus quarterly performance bonuses that unlock at a strong scorecard grade.
