Mobile App Development - Internship (WFH)

We are looking for a React Native Developer Intern to join our team and work on SquadRole, a real-world social/community mobile application.

SquadRole is an existing product that we are taking to the next stage with a polished Android and** iOS** mobile experience. As an intern, you will work closely with the development team to build and improve mobile app features using React Native and TypeScript.

This is a hands-on internship where you will get experience working with an actual application, existing codebase, APIs, Git/GitHub, UI development, debugging, testing, and mobile app development.

What you'll do

• Develop and improve the SquadRole mobile application using React Native and TypeScript for Android and iOS.
• Convert existing SquadRole web/PWA functionality into a polished, responsive and mobile-first application while maintaining a consistent user experience.
• Build and improve key features including user profiles, feed, posts, short-form vertical video/Reels-style experience, likes, comments, sharing, notifications and other social features.
• ntegrate the mobile application with our existing AWS Amplify backend, APIs, authentication, database and cloud storage.
• Implement smooth mobile interactions, animations, navigation, video playback, loading states and performance optimizations.
• Test the application across different Android and iOS devices, identify bugs and fix issues.
• Work with Git/GitHub using proper branching, commits and pull requests.
• Collaborate with the team on UI/UX improvements and contribute ideas for improving the overall SquadRole user experience.
• Assist with preparing production builds and releases for Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
• Write clean, maintainable and reusable code and follow good software development practices.

Who Can Apply?

This internship is suitable for students, freshers, and beginners who have a basic understanding of programming and are interested in mobile application development.

You don't need professional experience or a published mobile application.

We are mainly looking for someone who:

• Understands the basics of JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Has basic knowledge of React or React Native.
• Has built at least a small project, college project, or personal project.
• Is interested in learning React Native and mobile development.
• Is comfortable using or willing to learn Git and GitHub.
• Is willing to understand an existing codebase and solve problems.
• Can learn independently and ask questions when needed.
• Is excited about working on a real product.

Good to Have

The following are a plus but not mandatory:

• Previous React Native project experience.
• Basic knowledge of REST APIs.
• GitHub projects.
• Experience with Android Studio or Xcode.
• Experience with mobile UI/UX.
• Basic knowledge of AWS or cloud services.
• Interest in video-based or social/community applications.

Important

Professional experience is not required.

If you have learned React Native through courses/tutorials and have built a small project, you are welcome to apply. We care more about your fundamentals, willingness to learn, problem-solving ability, and interest in building real applications than the number of technologies you already know.

Internship Outcome

By the end of the internship, you should have practical experience contributing to a real mobile application and a better understanding of how production applications are designed, developed, tested, and released.

High-performing interns may also be considered for a full-time opportunity with the team based on performance, skills, and business requirements.
