About MR

MR is an ambitious new digital platform being created to connect the wider music community in one place.

A comprehensive interactive Figma prototype, product vision and initial commercial model have already been developed and we are now looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Founding Full-Stack Developer Collaborator to help turn the concept into a scalable working platform.

The Opportunity

This is not a conventional salaried vacancy.

We are looking for someone who is excited by the opportunity to become involved at the founding stage of a new venture and help shape both its technology and future direction.

You would work directly with the founder to:

• Review the existing Figma prototype
• Define a realistic MVP
• Recommend the most appropriate technology stack
• Design the platform architecture and database
• Build the front-end and backend
• Develop authentication and multi-role user accounts
• Create profiles, search, messaging and event functionality
• Establish hosting, testing, deployment and development processes
• Prepare the architecture for future payments, subscriptions, ticketing and marketplace functionality
• Help establish the technical roadmap for future development

The priority is to decide a focused, commercially viable MVP, rather than trying to deliver every proposed feature immediately (though that would be nice as it enhances the USP!)

Skills We Are Looking For

We would particularly like to hear from developers with experience in areas such as:

• Full-stack web application development
• JavaScript / TypeScript
• React, Next.js or similar
• Node.js, NestJS, Python or comparable backend technologies
• PostgreSQL or relational databases
• REST or GraphQL APIs
• Secure authentication and role-based permissions
• Cloud deployment
• Git and collaborative development
• Responsive/mobile-first development
• Translating Figma designs into production applications
• Experience with marketplaces, Stripe, subscriptions, real-time messaging, event platforms, maps, * Analytics or music technology would be especially useful.

We have deliberately not imposed a technology stack and would welcome recommendations from the successful collaborator.

An interest in music, live entertainment, community platforms or digital marketplaces would be a major advantage.

The Collaboration
This is currently an unpaid, flexible founding-stage collaboration.
There is no expectation to leave existing employment, work fixed hours or initially commit full-time.

Before substantive development begins, we would agree and document areas including:
Expected contribution
Intellectual property
Confidentiality
Responsibilities
Potential equity and/or revenue participation
How the relationship could develop as the business grows
As MR secures investment, grant funding or sustainable revenue, there is the potential for the collaboration to progress into a paid senior technical position, potentially including Technical Lead, Head of Development or CTO.
Any future salary, equity, revenue participation or financial return would be subject to commercial progress and separate, mutually beneficial formal agreement.
