Sr Cloud Solutions Engineer

The primary role of the Sr. Cloud Solutions Engineer is to produce architecture blueprints that guide the development and implementation of Cloud solutions across multiple products, providing direction to technical teams during project delivery and ensuring implementations support technology and product roadmaps. This person provides their expertise in the development and maintenance of architecture standards and solutions that align with strategic goals and partner with product managers, business analysts, designers, and software engineers to navigate solution decisions.

Responsibilities:
• Create and present compelling recommendations to customers to define operational procedures and practices while defining KPIs for health-checks, monitoring and escalation procedures.
• Accelerate development for roadmap features, to address specific customer requirements
• Identify ongoing risks and pain points throughout the project, develop and implement mitigation measures in addition to improving internal processes, and promoting knowledge sharing in the team by contributing to the knowledge base, blogs, and brown bag lunches.
• Capture project lessons and convert them into architectural best practices applicable to the broader install base; mentor and coach the internal team through internal training sessions.
• Work closely with Product Management and Engineering to review customer requirements and feedback, and identify opportunities for platform enhancements
• Produce architecture blueprints that guide the development and implementation of Cloud solutions across multiple products (AWS).
• Drive the evaluation, development, implementation, optimization, performance and configuration of customer cloud environments.
• Work directly with architects to help reproduce and resolve customer issues Knowledge of industry standards and standards organizations (e.g. ITIL, TOGAF, PMP).

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• 5+ years’ experience with enterprise cloud solutions, deploying and running solutions in a cloud environment, and private, public, and hybrid clouds
• Extensive experience with Internet technologies and protocols like TCP/IP, VPN, SSL and HTTP
• Hands-on experience with public and private cloud services (AWS, Openstack, VMWare, ect) as well as load balancers and networking devices
• Experience designing high availability and disaster recovery / fail-over infrastructures
• Development experience with database or application integration technology
• Deep knowledge of Linux fundamentals
• Knowledge of Open Source architectures and/or past contributions to open source projects
• Design, development and operations experience with highly-available, scalable, and fault tolerant systems
• Experience with agile/scrum methodologies

Preferred Requirements:
• Professional Cloud Solutions Architect (PCSA) Certification is highly desired
