Role Description The Agency Development Manager is a full-time hybrid role based in the Greater Pittsfield Area, with a mix of on-site and work-from-home responsibilities. This role focuses on recruiting, developing, and supporting agency representatives to grow Colonial Life’s presence in the local market. Day-to-day tasks include coaching sales teams, delivering training on products and enrollment solutions, and partnering with employers and brokers to expand workplace benefits programs. The Agency Development Manager monitors performance metrics, implements growth strategies, and ensures compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The role also involves building strong community and business relationships, representing Colonial Life at local events, and collaborating with internal partners to optimize agency operations.
Qualifications
- Sales leadership and team development skills, including experience coaching, mentoring, and supporting business development or sales professionals.
- Relationship-building and communication skills to work effectively with employers, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
- Organizational and planning abilities to manage multiple accounts, training sessions, and recruitment activities in a hybrid work environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills for interpreting performance data, identifying growth opportunities, and implementing improvement strategies.
- Prior experience in insurance, employee benefits, or financial services is highly beneficial.
- Comfort with technology tools and CRM or sales management systems to track activities and results.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- State insurance licensing (or willingness to obtain required licenses) and a valid driver’s license for local travel.
