About the job
What this role is about
Do you want to truly understand customer problems and turn them into solutions an engineering team can actually build? As a Technical Requirements Engineer / Solution Architect at nodeline, you connect customers, product, and technical feasibility – from the first discovery conversation to a concrete solution outline.
Integration is still largely manual today. Our vision is that a significant part of it will become agent-driven in the future – including in regulated environments such as industry, medical, and finance, where security, compliance, governance, and human oversight are critical.
Together with the founders, you help develop the market and turn ambiguous requirements into robust specifications and solution architectures.
Your responsibilities
You support potential pilot customers from the first technical discussion to a viable solution and bring what you learn directly into the product:
- Discovery & Requirements: understand processes, problems, and use cases and turn them into clear, actionable requirements
- Solution Architecture: design integration approaches, interfaces, and data flows
- Market & Outreach: proactively approach potential pilot customers via messages, phone calls, events, and trade fairs
- Data Governance: consider permissions, access control, data classification, auditability, and data protection requirements
- Customer-to-Engineering Translation: translate business, regulatory, and technical requirements into something engineering can work with
- Product Development: identify recurring problems, challenge assumptions, and derive requirements and priorities from them
- On-site Work: workshops, customer meetings, and trade fairs on a regular basis, but not every week
You combine technical understanding with an interest in working closely with people. You proactively engage with potential customers and work with them to determine whether and how we can solve a relevant problem. The basis is always a solid understanding of both the problem and its technical context.
Your profile
Technical background:
- Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, a comparable field, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong experience in data and systems integration
- Initial experience with data governance, e.g. permissions, data classification, auditability, and data protection
- In-depth expertise in at least one of our target domains: industry, medical, or finance – depth in one matters more to us than superficial knowledge of all three
- Experience in direct customer interaction, e.g. workshops, presales, or technical customer projects
- Experience turning ambiguous problems into robust requirements and solution outlines
- German and English at B2 level or higher, with confidence in both written and spoken communication.
How you work:
- Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and structured
- Able to quickly and independently work your way into new domain, regulatory, and technical topics
- Comfortable switching between the customer perspective, domain requirements, and technical architecture
- Able to communicate clearly with business stakeholders, IT, security, and engineering
- Take ownership of outcomes, share knowledge openly, and work constructively with others
Helpful, but not required: IREB or a comparable certification, experience with MDR / IEC 62304, DORA, or OT security, as well as experience in more than one of our target domains.
What you can expect
You will join at a stage where you can significantly shape customer development, the product, and your own area of responsibility. nodeline was founded in 2025 and has so far been run by the founding team. We are currently expanding significantly through a funded project.
We are at the beginning of our customer development journey and are working with our first pilot customers. Together with the founders, you will help shape the product based on real-world requirements.
