About Raeva:

Raeva is a pre-seed wellness platform converting wearable biometric data into personalized daily forecasts. We help users anticipate mood shifts, prevent burnout, and optimize recovery before physical or mental symptoms occur. We aim to bridge physical and mental health in a way no consumer app has attempted before. Our approach is science-backed, lifestyle-first, and built on a growing body of peer-reviewed research linking biometric patterns to predictive wellness outcomes.
We’re a small, mission-driven founding team preparing to bring this platform to market and actively building the advisory infrastructure to do it right.

A Note on Where We’re At:

We want to be upfront: Raeva is pre-seed, and this is currently an equity-only role with an intent to grow into a retained, compensated advisory relationship post-funding. We’re not yet in a position to offer cash compensation. What we can offer now is a meaningful stake in a company we believe will change how people understand and respond to their own health – and a genuine commitment that, as funding comes in, converting this into a paid position is a priority. We’re looking for a founding advisor, not a volunteer. The equity is meant to reflect that.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a fractional Data Science & Machine Learning Advisor to help shape Raeva’s core predictive engine. Working directly with our founding team, you’ll review existing research, help establish the algorithmic frameworks for our platform, and advise on machine learning strategy as we build toward our early-access launch.

Raeva doesn’t just log health metrics; it correlates multi-dimensional biometric streams (HRV, sleep architecture, resting heart rate, activity, temperature) to forecast future physical and mental states. This role is about turning that vision into a technically sound, scalable reality.

Why This Role Matters:

Peer-reviewed research has established that wearable biometric data can predict panic attacks with 92% accuracy, identify hypomanic episodes with 98% accuracy, flag depressive episodes 1–5 days out, and detect early signs of illness and athletic burnout. These findings exist; they’re real.

What doesn’t yet exist is a single consumer platform that unifies all of these prediction streams into one coherent, personalized wellness forecast. That’s what Raeva is building and the data science challenge at its core is genuinely novel. We won’t necessarily have access to the original algorithms from each research team. In some cases we may need to build from scratch; in others, there may be an opportunity to engage directly with the researchers who produced the original work.
This advisor would help us navigate all of it.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and validate peer-reviewed research models linking wearable biometrics to predictive wellness outcomes, and advise on their applicability to Raeva’s architecture
• Assess which published algorithms can be adapted for our use and where we’ll need to build from scratch
• Where appropriate or applicable, advise on or facilitate outreach to original research teams for collaboration or insight
• Guide the architecture of personalized machine learning baseline models designed to learn each user’s individual physiological norms
• Advise on feature engineering, data normalization, and anomaly detection for both mental and physical stress indicators
• Collaborate with engineering to ensure data pipelines are designed for user privacy and safety from day one
• Serve as a named member of Raeva’s Founding Advisory Board, listed on our website and investor materials
• Participate in periodic advisory sessions (estimated 1–2 hours/week) with technical leadership to refine data strategy and prepare for investor and grant milestones

Qualifications:

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related quantitative field
• Experience developing or advising on time-series predictive models, biometric signal processing, or digital health datasets
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks applied to wearable or sensor data
• Ability to evaluate published research models critically, understanding not just what a study found, but how the underlying algorithm was constructed and whether it can be reproduced or extended
• Passion for preventive health, mental well-being, and the frontier of wearable intelligence
• Comfortable being listed as a founding advisor on fundraising and investor materials

Compensation:

This role is compensated through an equity grant using the Founder Institute FAST (Founder Advisor Standard Template) agreement – the standard framework for early-stage advisory relationships. Typical advisor equity ranges from 0.25% to 1.0%, vesting monthly over 1–2 years with a short cliff. Terms are open to discussion.

As Raeva secures funding, we intend for this to transition into a retained, compensated advisory relationship. Our goal is to build lasting relationships with our founding advisors – not ask for something for nothing.
