Senior Backend and Integrations Engineer

AI Scaling is hiring a Senior Backend and Integrations Engineer to build the reliable systems behind an operating platform for AI implementation agencies.

AI Scaling OS connects CRM, campaigns, email, calendars, meetings, documents, automations, and AI agents. The hard part is not calling individual APIs. It is keeping provider truth, database truth, user-visible state, and tenant boundaries aligned when events arrive late, repeat, fail, or disagree.

You will work primarily in TypeScript, Deno Edge Functions, Supabase, and Postgres. You will also work with OAuth, webhooks, scheduled reconciliation, external APIs, agent control planes, and production diagnostics. You do not need experience with every provider we use, but you must have built reliable integration-heavy systems before.

What you will own

• Design and maintain APIs, Edge Functions, database functions, migrations, and integration contracts.
• Build idempotent webhook ingestion, reconciliation jobs, retry paths, and failure-safe provider actions.
• Preserve strict org-level tenant isolation across data, credentials, and provider operations.
• Improve observability so operators can distinguish source state, database state, deployment state, and provider state.
• Work with Postgres constraints, indexes, transactions, row-level security, and data migrations.
• Integrate systems such as email, calendars, CRM, enrichment, communications, meeting intelligence, and AI runtimes.
• Write automated tests for authentication, authorization, idempotency, concurrency, and negative paths.
• Review existing boundaries before adding new services or duplicating control planes.
• Participate in incident diagnosis and verify fixes against live behavior.

You may be a strong fit if

• You have at least five years of professional backend or platform-engineering experience.
• You are highly proficient in TypeScript and SQL and can work effectively in Deno or Node environments.
• You have built production integrations involving OAuth, webhooks, queues, scheduled jobs, or eventual consistency.
• You understand multi-tenant authorization, secret handling, API security, and safe migration practices.
• You can design idempotency and reconciliation instead of assuming external systems are always available or consistent.
• You write focused tests and can reason about failure, rollback, retries, and concurrency.
• You communicate clearly in written English and document decisions another engineer can operate.
• You can show examples of backend systems or integrations you personally built.

Helpful experience includes Supabase, Postgres row-level security, Deno Edge Functions, Fly.io, OpenAI or agent systems, Twilio, Google Workspace APIs, Instantly, Apollo, or other integration-heavy SaaS products.

Structure

• Full-time remote contractor
• Remote worldwide
• At least four working hours of weekday overlap with U.S. Eastern Time
• $7,000 to $10,000 USD per month, based on experience
• Reports into AI Scaling product and operations leadership
