About the job
Neptune Ops is AI-native influence operating system. We build and deploy the most advanced digital tools to drive outcomes in public affairs and other precision advertising campaigns across the country. We help our clients avoid the pitfalls of technology disruptions, and capitalize on the opportunities created by these changes.
As our company continues to grow, you’ll be an important part of leveraging the latest creative tools along with your own design expertise to meet the creative needs of our clients. You’ll see in real time how empowering clients to leverage the latest technology has a tremendous impact on policy, public affairs, elections, and precision B2B advertising. This role works as part of Neptune’s creative team. You'll work directly with key stakeholders to produce high-impact videos, GIFs, and other digital ads that drive measurable outcomes. This isn't a traditional design internship. Speed, precision, and fluency with AI-powered creative tools are just as important as your eye for design. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to how an AI-native organization operates and make a direct impact on real campaigns.
What you'll do:
- Produce digital creative assets including short-form videos, animated GIFs, digital audio, digital-out-home, and native ads for political, advocacy, and enterprise clients
- Leverage AI-powered design and video generation tools to accelerate production timelines without sacrificing quality
- Collaborate with the political team to translate messaging strategy into compelling visual content
- Work alongside engineers and technical team members to integrate creative assets into ad delivery systems
- Design app and website layouts, pages, and other UI features
- Iterate quickly based on stakeholder feedback, performance data, and campaign needs
- Stay current on emerging AI creative tools and bring new capabilities to the team
What we're looking for:
- 2+ years of commercial graphic design experience
- Background in digital media, graphic design, visual communication, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with AI-powered creative tools (e.g., Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, Runway, Sora, ElevenLabs, Canva AI, or similar)
- Strong proficiency in standard design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or equivalent)
- Basic understanding of web technologies, HTML/CSS, or software development (enough to communicate effectively with engineers and collaborate on technical implementations)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where speed and accuracy are non-negotiable
- Strong project management and communication skills and comfort working across creative and technical teams
- Interest in political communications, public affairs, or advocacy is a plus
- Must be located in the San Francisco Bay Area and able to work in person in San Francisco at least three days per week
How you'll work:
Campaign windows are tight and client needs shift. You'll regularly receive a creative brief, ask the right clarifying questions, and turn around polished assets (videos, GIFs, digital ads) on compressed timelines. Iteration is part of the job, not an exception to it. This role requires comfort engaging in active, ongoing conversation with strategists, account leads, and engineers. Expect real-time Slack threads, quick creative reviews, and rapid feedback loops. Your foundation is traditional design craft, layout, typography, color, motion, but you'll be expected to reach for AI tools to compress timelines and expand what's possible. Your ability to take direction fast and translate it into visuals even faster is what will make you successful here.
