Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Creative Production Specialist to provide graphic design and creative production services supporting the visual identity and marketing initiatives of a destination tourism program.
The Creative Production Specialist will be responsible for developing and producing branded marketing materials across print and digital platforms. This role will ensure visual consistency, adherence to brand standards, effective organization of creative assets, and delivery of high-quality, production-ready materials.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Tourism Program Manager and other marketing partners to translate strategic direction into compelling visual communications.
Key Responsibilities
Graphic Design & Creative Production
Develop and produce a wide range of print and digital marketing materials, including:
Visitor guides and downloadable travel guides
Visitor maps and itinerary PDFs
Rack cards and brochures
Posters and event flyers
Trade show displays and signage
Presentation materials
Print advertisements
Website graphics and banners
Landing page graphics
Email marketing graphics
Social media templates
Digital advertising graphics
Infographics
Downloadable resources
Interactive PDFs
Brand Management
Maintain and protect the organization's visual identity.
Apply established brand standards consistently across all materials.
Ensure appropriate and consistent logo usage.
Manage typography, color palettes, and graphic styles.
Create reusable templates for staff and contractors.
Update and organize brand assets as needed.
Digital Asset Management
Maintain an organized digital asset library containing:
Logos
Icons
Fonts
Photography
Video assets
Graphic elements
Templates
Final production files
Develop and maintain a logical file structure that allows authorized team members and contractors to easily locate and reuse creative materials.
Print Production Coordination
Prepare press-ready artwork for commercial printing.
Communicate with commercial printers and production vendors.
Obtain and review production specifications.
Review proofs and identify required corrections.
Coordinate revisions and final approvals.
Assist with production schedules and delivery timelines.
Collaboration
Work collaboratively with:
Tourism Program Manager
Social Media Manager
Content Creators
PR Agency
Website/Digital Services Contractor
Community Partners
Commercial Printers and Vendors
Participate in monthly creative planning meetings, project planning meetings, and regular communications throughout active projects.
Destination & Tourism Awareness
Develop and maintain familiarity with the Whidbey and Camano Islands destination, including:
Visitor experiences
Local businesses
Events
Seasonal tourism opportunities
Geographic characteristics
Community partners
Use this understanding to create relevant and effective tourism marketing materials and collaborate successfully with local partners.
Required Qualifications
Professional experience in graphic design, creative production, or visual communications.
Strong layout and typography skills.
Experience preparing files for both print and digital production.
Knowledge of branding and visual identity systems.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Ability to receive direction and effectively incorporate feedback.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders, contractors, vendors, and partners.
Experience working in destination marketing, tourism, hospitality, government, or nonprofit organizations is preferred.
Technical Skills
Candidates should have access to professional creative software capable of producing industry-standard deliverables, such as:
Adobe Creative Cloud
Adobe InDesign
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Acrobat
Or comparable professional graphic design software.
The selected professional is expected to provide their own software licenses and equipment necessary to perform the work.

Contract Details
The anticipated engagement is for one year beginning approximately November 1, 2026, with the possibility of renewal or extension based on performance, funding availability, and mutual agreement.
