About the job
Red6.ai is an applied AI team building real systems for US businesses. We work on document workflows, voice calls, internal tools, integrations, and multiple bespoke agent systems that need to keep working after the demo is over.
We’re hiring a junior AI engineer to build the practical plumbing behind agent-based products. You’ll work on tool calling, connectors, typed request and response contracts, durable state, queues, retries, rate limits, tests, deployment, and logs. The job is less about making a chatbot sound clever and more about making a workflow predictable, inspectable, and safe to operate.
You’ll connect agents to APIs, databases, and business tools; decide what state needs to be stored; handle external-service failures; and build clean handoffs when a person needs to step in. You’ll also write evaluations and tests so we can tell whether a change improved the product or quietly broke something.
Most of our backend work uses Python, APIs, and relational data. Experience with FastAPI, PostgreSQL, cloud deployment, or MCP is useful. Strong personal projects, internships, freelance work, and open-source contributions all count. Show us what you actually built, where it failed, and what you changed.
You’ll work closely with a senior architect and other engineers, while owning small features from a clear requirement through deployment and follow-up fixes. You may also join selected US-client calls, so strong communication skills with clear written updates and sensible questions matter.
This is a full-time, remote role for someone based in India. You’ll need to be comfortable working at night in IST for team collaboration and conversations with US clients. The salary range is ₹2,00,000–₹15,00,000 per year.
The process is a short intro, a practical interview, a short POC work sample, references, and an offer. We aim to finish within 2–3 weeks.
