Founding Engineer (Equity)

Build a live product that lasts

Unreal Urban builds technology that brings people, communities and cities together. Our first flagship product, Falorin, is a live web and mobile platform for discovering, creating and joining real-world experiences.

We are looking for a hands-on Founding Engineer to own Falorin's engineering: shaping how the system is designed, keeping a live product reliable as it grows, and building the features that matter most to users. We care far more about engineering judgement than any particular stack; the job is to solve Falorin's problems well.

This is an early-stage, equity-based collaboration; there is no cash salary at this stage. Equity will be discussed transparently with strong candidates based on scope, commitment and contribution.

What you'll do

• Own architecture and system design across mobile, web, internal tools and backend services.
• Ship improvements to a live product used by real people every day.
• Keep the platform reliable and performant as it grows across cities and timezones.
• Make pragmatic technical decisions that balance moving fast with compatibility and long-term maintainability.
• Work directly with the founder, design and growth to turn priorities into working software.

What we're looking for

• Strong system design and scaling judgement, proven on real products in production.
• Comfortable across the stack and quick to learn whatever a problem requires.
• Experience running live systems: releases, monitoring, data integrity and changes that stay safe for users on older versions.
• Fluent with AI coding tools and able to use them to move quickly without lowering quality.
• Clear written English and a collaborative, founder-level mindset.
