Full-Stack Engineer

We’re a recently funded, early-stage preventative-health company building a physician-led platform that combines blood testing, genetics and longitudinal health data.

We’re hiring our first full-time engineer to work alongside the CTO.

You’ll join an existing product with real clinical workflows, integrations and users, alongside technical debt and architectural decisions that need improving. You’ll have substantial influence over what we build next and how the technology evolves.

This is a role for someone who likes taking a problem from vague brief → product decision → technical design → production, rather than waiting for perfectly specified tickets.

What you'll work on
Building clinician-facing and member-facing product features
Visualising longitudinal biomarkers, test results and health data
Developing laboratory and clinical-data integrations, including webhooks, signature verification and HL7-style data flows
Working with genomic data and genetic testing panels
Designing secure permission models, audit trails and workflows around sensitive health and genomic data
Building human-in-the-loop AI features, such as helping draft clinician-facing summaries from longitudinal health information
Improving testing, reliability and developer experience
Paying down technical debt and helping decide how our architecture should evolve

We also use Python Cloud Functions/services across parts of our payments and laboratory workflows.

We don’t expect you to already know every technology in that list. We care much more about your ability to understand an existing system, make good engineering decisions and improve it pragmatically.

What we're looking for
Several years building and shipping production web applications across the stack
Strong React and TypeScript/JavaScript experience
Good judgement around data modelling, APIs, security and maintainability
Experience owning meaningful features from idea through to production
Strong product and UX instincts
Comfortable working independently in a small team and dealing with ambiguous requirements

Experience with Firebase/Firestore, healthtech or other regulated industries, AI/LLM products, data visualisation or early-stage startups would be useful, but isn’t required.

Healthcare experience is not a requirement. Curiosity about the clinical domain is.

How you'll work

You’ll work directly with the CTO and closely with clinicians, the CEO and wider founding team.

Compensation: £70,000–£80,000 base salary depending on experience, plus equity.

Interview process

1. 30-minute conversation with the CTO — your background, things you’ve built and what you’re looking for next.

2. Technical & practical working session — a realistic product/engineering problem combining technical discussion with a small practical component.

3. Short conversation with the CEO — to discuss the company, direction and mutual fit.
