AI Systems Architect
Optalysys is building at the intersection of AI infrastructure, photonics, networking and advanced compute. At the heart of our technology is compute-in-transit: embedding programmable photonic, light-based processing directly into the optical data path itself, so data gets processed at line rate as it moves, instead of being converted to electrons, shuttled to a chip, computed on, and converted back.
That opens up a fundamentally different way to think about the relationship between data movement and computation.
We’re now expanding in North America and looking for an AI Systems Architect to help define how compute-in-transit integrates into real-world AI infrastructure.
You’ll work across Engineering, Product and Commercial teams to design AI system architectures, evaluate customer workloads and determine where Optalysys technology can create meaningful performance advantages across AI, HPC and cloud environments. You’ll also work directly with customers and help influence future product direction.
What you’ll do
- Design architectures for complex AI workloads
- Develop reference architectures and scalable deployment models
- Integrate Optalysys technology into AI, HPC and cloud infrastructure
- Work directly with customer AI, engineering and infrastructure teams
- Lead technical workshops, demonstrations and proof-of-concept projects
- Analyse LLMs, inference pipelines and machine-learning workloads
- Benchmark where photonic processing can provide measurable performance improvements
- Explore the interaction between optical networking, data movement and compute
- Bring customer insight into Product and Engineering
- Represent Optalysys across the AI, semiconductor and photonics ecosystem
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone with deep experience designing modern AI systems and infrastructure.
Relevant experience could include:
AI Infrastructure | LLMs | Generative AI | Inference | HPC | GPU Computing | AI Accelerators | Cloud Infrastructure | Optical Networking
Experience with technologies such as CUDA, TensorRT, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Azure, GCP, PyTorch, TensorFlow or JAX is valuable.
Just as importantly, you should be able to think at a systems level. You’ll need to understand where data moves, where computation happens, where bottlenecks exist and where processing directly in the optical path could create a meaningful advantage.
