About the job

Who You Are:

The Technical Program Manager (TPM) is the operational readiness execution lead for each data center campus, owning the site-level workstream from early design coordination through final turnover. The TPM translates the VP of Operational Readiness's standards and frameworks into site-level execution, serving as the primary operations representative across Construction, Engineering, EHS, PMO, Commissioning agents, 3PDC operators, and tenants. Managing multiple sites concurrently across varying stages of development, the TPM ensures operational requirements are embedded early and carried through to a clean, accountable handoff. In close partnership with the Technical Operations Manager (TOM) and Technical Operations Engineer (TOE), the TPM validates 3PDC operator readiness, drives punch list items through completion, and executes a deliberate transfer of ownership to the TOM before transitioning to the next site in the portfolio.

What You'll Do:

  • **Operational Readiness & Design Coordination*

  • Represent Operations as the primary site-level stakeholder during design and pre-construction phases, ensuring operational requirements, maintainability, and Galaxy's operating standards are reflected in project deliverables

  • Partner with Engineering & Operations Reliability and Construction teams to identify and resolve design gaps that could impact operational performance or safety post-turnover

  • Ensure that the site as built aligns with the operating model Galaxy intends to execute under, surfacing discrepancies early and driving resolution through the appropriate channels

  • Maintain visibility into project schedules and proactively surface risks to operational readiness timelines to the VP of Operational Readiness

Commissioning Oversight

  • Serve as Operations' site-level representative throughout the commissioning process, ensuring systems are commissioned in alignment with the technical standards set by Engineering & Operations Reliability
  • Coordinate between Commissioning agents, Engineering, Construction, and 3PDC operators to align on scope, sequencing, and acceptance criteria
  • Validate that commissioning outcomes meet the technical and operational thresholds required for turnover
  • Maintain commissioning records that support audit readiness and serve as reference documentation for the TOM post-handoff

3PDC Operator Readiness & Turnover

  • Work alongside the TOM and TOE to assess and validate 3PDC operator readiness ahead of turnover milestones — including procedure readiness, staffing, training records, and site familiarization
  • Ensure operators have the documentation, qualifications, and site-specific knowledge required to assume operational responsibility at RFS
  • Own the punch list process through final item completion, ensuring all outstanding items are resolved and formally accepted before turnover is executed
  • Execute a structured, documented handoff to the TOM upon turnover completion and disengage to focus on the next site in the portfolio

Cross-Functional Program Management

  • Serve as the primary operations liaison across all project stakeholders, maintaining alignment and accountability across PMO, Construction, Engineering, EHS, Commissioning agents, 3PDC operators, and tenants
  • Maintain a clear and current picture of each site's readiness status across all workstreams and communicate progress, risks, and decisions to the VP of Operational Readiness
  • Partner with PMO to ensure operational milestones are integrated into the master project schedule and tracked to completion
  • Drive the resolution of cross-functional dependencies that could impact readiness timelines or turnover quality

EHS & Compliance Integration

  • Ensure EHS requirements are accounted for throughout commissioning and turnover activities in coordination with the EHS team
  • Validate that site conditions, operator practices, and life-safety systems meet applicable standards prior to turnover
  • Ensure regulatory and compliance documentation is complete, accurate, and transferable to the TOM at handoff

Tenant Coordination

  • Where applicable, engage with tenants and their representatives throughout the commissioning and turnover process to ensure alignment on timelines, access, and operational expectations
  • Serve as the operational point of contact for tenant-facing questions and commitments during the pre-turnover phase, coordinating with the TOM on items that will carry forward post-handoff

What We’re Looking For:

  • 8+ years of experience in data center operations, commissioning, or critical facilities program management
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional programs in mission-critical environments
  • Strong technical foundation in electrical, mechanical, and controls systems common to data center environments
  • Experience owning commissioning and turnover processes in a structured, milestone-driven environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent sites and stakeholder relationships without loss of detail or accountability
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical complexity for diverse audiences across organizational levels

Bonus Points:

  • Prior experience in hyperscale or large-scale data center environments
  • Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, NETA, and relevant IEC/IEEE standards
  • Experience working within or alongside a formal PMO structure
  • Background in construction management, critical systems commissioning, or facilities engineering
  • Military, utility, or industrial operations background

What We Offer (Helios):

  • Competitive base salary and discretionary bonus
  • Paid Time Off
  • Company-paid Holidays (14)
  • Company-paid health and protective benefits for employees, partners, and other dependents
  • 3% 401(k) company contribution
  • Generous paid Parental Leave
  • Free coaching and counseling sessions through Headspace
  • Free breakfast and lunch daily
  • Smart, entrepreneurial, and fun colleagues in Employee Resource Groups
