Job Description

As a Software Development Engineer 3 (SDE3) – Frontend at CloudSEK, you will be a senior engineer responsible for the design, performance, and reliability of the user interfaces that power our cybersecurity products. You will take ownership of significant features and modules, contribute to engineering standards, mentor junior engineers, and help drive the technical quality of the frontend codebase. This role requires strong hands-on expertise, solid design skills, and the ability to translate product requirements into clear, scalable technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and development of complex, scalable frontend features and modules for CloudSEK's cybersecurity platform.
  
• Partner with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers to translate requirements into clear technical plans and high-quality implementations.
  
• Contribute to and help maintain large-scale component libraries, design systems, and UI frameworks to ensure consistency, reusability, and performance across CloudSEK products.
  
• Follow and help improve frontend engineering standards, coding practices, and quality benchmarks within the team.
  
• Build and integrate AI workflows into the product and development process, including LLM-powered features, AI-assisted tooling, and agentic automation.
  
• Contribute to performance optimisation efforts, including rendering strategies, caching, bundling and code-splitting, asset optimisation, and runtime monitoring.
  
• Make sound technical decisions related to data-fetching patterns, state management, SSR/CSR strategies, routing, and application modularity within your areas of ownership.
  
• Collaborate with backend teams on API contracts and ensure efficient communication between the client and server layers.
  
• Mentor SDE1 and SDE2 engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, and design discussions.
  
• Participate in engineering initiatives such as refactors, migrations, performance improvements, and reliability enhancements.
  
• Help maintain frontend observability, including logging, monitoring, performance profiling, error tracking, and analytics, to improve stability and user experience.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, performance bottlenecks, rendering inconsistencies, and browser-specific problems, contributing to root-cause analysis and durable fixes.
  
• Write robust tests, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end automation, to ensure reliability and safe deployments.
  
• Contribute to developer experience improvements through tooling, build pipeline optimisation, automation, and documentation.
  
• Stay current with emerging frontend technologies and AI tooling, and propose relevant improvements to product performance and developer productivity.

Requirements

• Strong experience building complex frontend applications in production environments.
  
• Solid expertise with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript.
  
• Experience building and working with AI workflows — such as integrating LLM APIs, building AI-powered product features, or using AI-assisted and agentic development tools.
  
• Experience working with design systems, UI frameworks, and reusable component libraries.
  
• Good understanding of rendering models, performance optimisation techniques, bundling, lazy loading, and caching strategies.
  
• Solid understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, UI/UX principles, and cross-browser compatibility.
  
• Experience with modern build tools and bundlers such as Vite, Webpack, or Rollup, monorepo tooling such as Nx or TurboRepo, and package managers such as pnpm.
  
• Proficiency consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs and collaborating with backend engineers on API design.
  
• Working knowledge of CI/CD workflows, version control, automated testing, and build pipelines.
  
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and conducting constructive code reviews.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to write secure, scalable, maintainable code.
  
• Ability to collaborate effectively with product, engineering, and design teams, with clear communication and strong ownership.
