The Role
Troopr is hiring an AI-First MERN Stack Developer who goes beyond traditional coding. This is a high-ownership engineering role where you will build product features end-to-end while aggressively leveraging AI tools across the development lifecycle.
You will use AI to accelerate coding, debugging, architecture planning, refactoring, testing, and documentation. We are looking for someone who treats AI as a core engineering tool, not just an occasional assistant.

What You’ll Do

1. Build and own end-to-end product features using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js).
2. Adopt an AI-first development workflow, using AI tools for coding, debugging, refactoring, testing, and documentation.
3. Develop scalable Node.js and Express APIs, accelerating development through AI-assisted code generation and optimization. 4 Build modern React applications with strong component architecture and AI-assisted development practices.
4. Design and optimize MongoDB schemas and queries, leveraging AI insights to improve performance and scalability.
5. Use AI-powered debugging and analysis tools to identify bottlenecks and resolve production issues faster.
6. Implement AI-assisted engineering workflows for testing, code reviews, documentation, and rapid prototyping.
7. Collaborate with engineering and product teams to quickly prototype and ship features.

What We’re Looking For
Must-Have

1. 1+ years of experience building full-stack applications using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js).
2. Strong AI-first engineering mindset with demonstrated use of AI tools to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and development workflows.
3. Hands-on experience using AI tools for tasks such as code generation, refactoring, debugging, system design, and development productivity.
4. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical ideas and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Strong Signals

1. Experience building AI-assisted workflows or developer automations that improve engineering productivity.
2. Prior experience working in a B2B SaaS product environment.
3. A GitHub profile, deployed apps, or projects that show real end-to-end ownership.
4. Comfort shipping in a fast-moving startup with minimal process.
5. Familiarity with production systems — deployment, monitoring, and debugging live issues.
