About the job
About Zynq
Zynq is a YC-backed workplace management platform trusted by enterprise customers to manage offices, desks, meeting rooms, visitors, parking, and shared workplace resources. We integrate deeply with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, which puts us at the center of our customers' identity, directory, and calendar systems.
We help organizations make better use of their workplace resources while simplifying the experience for employees, facilities teams, and workplace administrators. As workplace software evolves, we believe natural language interfaces and AI will become an increasingly important way employees interact with enterprise systems. We’re thoughtfully evolving Zynq while remaining grounded in solving real customer problems - not building AI for its own sake.
The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Lead Engineer to own the technical direction of Zynq and help build the next generation of our platform.
Zynq is a live, revenue-generating platform that large enterprise customers rely on every day. You'll join a small team and take ownership of the stack from day one, spending most of your time writing production code while owning technical direction, architecture, cloud infrastructure, and engineering standards. You’ll take on the challenges that come with one platform covering desk booking, rooms, visitors, parking, and analytics, integrated deeply with Google and Microsoft, serving enterprise customers who rely on it daily. You'll work with the team to make judgment calls about what to modernize, what to build next, and what to leave alone.
What You’ll Do
- Own feature delivery end to end across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure
- Own technical direction and architecture while remaining a hands-on contributor shipping production code every week.
- Build workplace experiences spanning desk booking, room scheduling, visitor management, analytics, and interactive floorplans
- Design and maintain integrations with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Teams, and Stripe
- Operate and improve our GCP infrastructure: deployments, monitoring, performance, security, and reliability
- Modernize an established enterprise platform while maintaining the reliability our customers depend on.
- Work directly with enterprise customers to understand requirements and deliver quickly
- Define engineering standards, mentor engineers, and build the team as we hire
- You’ll have broad ownership across the platform and the autonomy to improve systems where you see opportunities. We value good engineering judgment over rigid process.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years building production SaaS applications
- Strong TypeScript across the stack (Node.js backend and React frontend)
- Working comfort in Python and Django
- Experience building and operating multi-tenant SaaS in production, on MySQL or a comparable relational database
- Strong grounding in secure API design
- Experience operating production cloud infrastructure (we use Google Cloud Platform, though comparable AWS or Azure experience transfers well).
- A track record of owning production incidents from alert through resolution
- Hands-on approach with comfort moving between frontend, backend, infrastructure, and customer conversations
- Sound judgment, verifies their work before it ships, and maintains high production uptime
Nice to Have
- Google Workspace APIs, Microsoft Graph, or other enterprise collaboration platforms
- Enterprise scheduling, workplace management, or facilities software
- Experience incorporating LLMs or AI capabilities into production applications is a plus.
- Startup or early-stage company experience
Why Join Zynq
- Own the technical direction of an enterprise SaaS platform with paying customers
- Significant autonomy and real influence over the product roadmap
- Direct access to customers and company leadership
- Solve interesting engineering problems. You’ll work on synchronization, scheduling, distributed systems, integrations, identity, calendars, floorplans, and enterprise-scale workflows—not another CRUD application.
- Room to grow into the long-term engineering leader of the company as we scale
- Competitive compensation package with a meaningful equity opportunity for the right candidate.
Location
Remote (US Preferred). Candidates located in or near the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex are preferred, though we are open to exceptional remote candidates.
If you’re energized by owning a real product, solving challenging technical problems, working directly with customers, and helping shape the future of enterprise workplace software, we’d love to hear from you.
