About Wenup
Wenup is a UK-based legal-tech company building an AI-assisted platform for guided legal document workflows. Our product helps users complete structured intake journeys, supports document automation, and provides tools for validation, review, and operational oversight.
We are looking for a capable full-stack developer to join our engineering team and help support a small group of graduate developers as the platform continues to grow.
About the Role
This role is suited to a developer with around 3+ years of professional experience who is ready to take on more responsibility. You will contribute directly to product development while helping junior developers work more effectively day to day.
You will report to our Senior Engineers and work closely with the CTO. The role combines hands-on development, first-pass code review, task coordination, and support for junior team members.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain features across the frontend and backend.
Support junior developers with task breakdown, implementation guidance, and code quality.
Review pull requests before they are passed to the Senior Engineer.
Help maintain good Git practices, clear PRs, and clean development workflows.
Work on user-facing product flows, admin tools, APIs, document workflows, and AI-assisted features.
Identify bugs, edge cases, weak validation, duplicated logic, and maintainability issues.
Communicate clearly with the Senior Engineer and CTO on progress, blockers, and technical risks.
Help maintain a practical, disciplined engineering culture in a remote team.
Requirements
3+ years of professional software development experience.
Strong full-stack development fundamentals.
Experience with React, TypeScript, or similar frontend technologies.
Experience building backend APIs using Python, FastAPI, Node.js, Django, Express, or similar.
Good understanding of Git, pull requests, and code review workflows.
Ability to write clean, readable, maintainable code.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Clear communication and good remote working habits.
Confidence supporting junior developers while knowing when to escalate technical decisions.
Nice to Have
Experience with FastAPI, Firebase, Firestore, or Google Cloud.
Experience with SaaS platforms, admin dashboards, workflow tools, or document generation.
Exposure to AI/LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, Gemini, or similar.
Understanding of structured outputs, validation, logging, and fallback handling for AI features.
Experience with testing, CI/CD, Docker, or deployment workflows.
Startup experience.
