Investment Analyst / Associate

Job Description:

Patriot Capital is seeking an Analyst / Associate to join our team. This position is an excellent opportunity to participate first-hand in supporting the firm’s investing activities, including evaluating and conducting due diligence on new investments and supporting portfolio management functions of the firm's existing portfolio. Founded in 2000, Patriot Capital has invested over $1 billion through five funds in more than 150 businesses in the lower-middle market, providing an excellent opportunity to join and learn alongside an established and industry-respected team.

Summary of Responsibilities, Essential Duties and Expectations:

• Prepare financial models and analyses used to evaluate potential investment opportunities
• Prepare new deal executive summaries and support the preparation of investment committee memorandums
• Assist in various aspects of due diligence, including risk assessment, sensitivity analysis and market/competitive industry analysis
• Assist with ongoing monitoring and projects for portfolio companies including compiling portfolio company financial data, performing periodic financial analyses and participating in periodic board/company meetings
• Assist in ad hoc requests related to investor relations and fundraising
• Interact with management of portfolio companies and clients

Qualifications (Experience, Competencies, Skills, Education):

• One to three years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, investing, lending, transaction advisory services or other financial services activities
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles, including analyzing financial statements and preparing financial models
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Above average Excel capabilities
• Self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines and juggle several tasks simultaneously
