About the job

Remote | Full-Time Contractor | Europe–Americas Time-Zone Overlap

Zima Media is looking for an experienced paid-media specialist who can independently manage Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns while developing broader expertise across analytics, tracking, landing pages, CRO, SEO, automation, and AI.

Paid media is the foundation of this role. You should already be comfortable launching, managing, and improving advertising campaigns—not learning Google Ads from scratch.

At the same time, we do not want someone who operates only inside advertising platforms. We are looking for a curious, technically capable marketer who wants to understand the full growth system, take on unfamiliar challenges, and learn new platforms quickly.

You do not need to know every platform already, but you must have the fundamentals, judgment, and learning ability to confidently take ownership of a new campaign type, platform, or technical challenge.

Why Join Zima Media?

Remote Work With Real Flexibility

We have been fully remote since day one. We care about results, communication, and quality of work—not where you sit.

For this search, we are primarily considering candidates based in Europe or the Americas. You must be able to maintain reliable overlap with European and North American working hours for client calls and team communication.

Build Beyond Paid Media

Paid media will remain your core responsibility, but you will develop broader skills across the systems that determine whether campaigns succeed:

  • Acquisition: Google Ads, Meta Ads, paid search, paid social, and emerging advertising platforms.
  • Measurement: GA4, Google Tag Manager, conversion tracking, attribution, reporting, and performance diagnostics.
  • Conversion: Landing pages, website strategy, CRO, offer testing, and customer journey improvement.
  • Growth channels: SEO, CRM, email automation, lifecycle marketing, and retention.
  • Technology: AI tools, automation, marketing technology, and basic web implementation.
  • The goal is not to turn you into a shallow generalist. It is to make you a stronger paid-media and growth specialist who can understand and improve the entire system around a campaign.

Real Ownership

You will work directly with clients, contribute to strategy, solve problems, and keep projects moving. We expect team members to communicate clearly, make practical recommendations, flag issues early, and take responsibility for outcomes.

What a Typical Week Looks Like

A typical week might include optimizing a Google Ads account, launching Meta campaigns, reviewing a tracking problem in Google Tag Manager, identifying weaknesses on a landing page, joining a client strategy call, and testing a new AI-assisted workflow.

Paid-media management will be the center of the role, but you will regularly move between platforms, analysis, troubleshooting, client communication, and strategy. The variety is part of the opportunity, but it also requires independence, curiosity, and strong organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan, launch, manage, and optimize campaigns across Google Ads and Meta Ads.
  • Take ownership of different campaign types, including Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Display, YouTube, lead generation, and e-commerce campaigns.
  • Learn and manage additional advertising platforms when client needs or opportunities require it.
  • Develop paid-media strategies aligned with client goals, commercial constraints, and the wider customer journey.
  • Analyze account and campaign performance, identify the most important problems, and prioritize practical improvements.
  • Create ad copy, creative briefs, audience recommendations, testing plans, and campaign improvement ideas.
  • Review landing pages, funnels, offers, tracking, and conversion data—not just advertising-platform metrics.
  • Troubleshoot campaign, analytics, attribution, tracking, and reporting issues.
  • Act as a day-to-day point of contact for selected clients, with support from senior team members where needed.
  • Join and lead client calls, explain performance clearly, recommend next steps, and keep agreed actions moving.
  • Use AI and automation to improve analysis, execution, quality control, and internal processes.
  • Stay current with platform changes, privacy developments, tracking technology, and emerging marketing tools.

Team & Reporting

You will report directly to our founders, but day to day you will operate with a high level of independence. You will help manage selected client relationships, own next steps, make recommendations, and keep work moving without multiple layers of approval.
We are not a micromanaging culture. This autonomy is a feature, not a gap, and the role suits someone who acts proactively rather than waiting for detailed instructions on every task.

Essential Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on paid-media experience.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Google Ads, including independently launching, managing, and optimizing campaigns.
  • Working experience with Meta Ads and the ability to manage campaigns with limited supervision.
  • Experience taking personal ownership of client accounts or meaningful parts of them.
  • Ability to diagnose performance beyond surface-level platform recommendations.
  • Understanding of GA4, conversion tracking, and landing-page performance.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Comfort communicating directly with clients and explaining technical or performance issues clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts, projects, and priorities in a remote environment.
  • Evidence that you can learn unfamiliar tools or platforms and solve problems without step-by-step instructions.
  • Reliable, proactive, organized, and comfortable taking responsibility for outcomes.

Valuable Additional Experience

  • Google Tag Manager and conversion-tracking implementation.
  • Landing pages, CRO, or basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • SEO and organic-search fundamentals.
  • E-commerce, lead generation, Merchant Center, product feeds, or Shopping campaigns.
  • CRM, email automation, and lifecycle marketing.
  • Additional advertising platforms such as Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, or Reddit.
  • AI-assisted analysis, automation, and workflow development.
  • Agency experience and direct responsibility for client relationships.
  • These additional skills are valuable, but they do not replace the required paid-media foundation.

About Zima Media

Founded in 2017, Zima Media is a fully remote digital marketing agency that has helped more than 3,000 businesses worldwide grow online.

Our work has been featured by major publications including CNBC, Business Insider, and the Fiverr Blog.

Our team is small, collaborative, and supportive. You will work directly with experienced marketers, gain exposure to a wide range of client challenges, and have room to shape your career as your skills develop.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation

Compensation is $2,000–$3,000 per month, depending on experience, skills, location, and level of client-facing responsibility.
This is a full-time remote contractor role. For exceptional candidates with deeper paid-media expertise or stronger client leadership experience, we are open to discussing compensation.

Flexible Working Hours

Most team members work roughly 40 hours per week, but we focus on outcomes rather than clock-watching. As long as client work is delivered to a high standard, communication remains strong, and required time-zone overlap is maintained, you can structure your day flexibly.

Time Off

We offer unlimited PTO, used responsibly, plus additional company holidays throughout the year.

Growth & Development

You will gain hands-on experience across paid media, analytics, tracking, CRO, web, SEO, automation, and strategy while working on real client projects. You will also receive direct support and mentorship from experienced marketers.

As you develop, there will be opportunities to take on larger accounts, deepen your specialist expertise, lead client relationships, and progress into a more senior role.

Additional Benefits

  • Fully remote work.
  • Unlimited PTO and additional company holidays.
  • Dedicated learning and professional-development time.
  • Direct mentorship and access to the founders.
  • Exposure to multiple industries, account types, and growth challenges.
  • Opportunities to grow into more senior, strategic, or specialized roles.

Our Hiring Process

  • We aim to keep the process practical, transparent, and respectful of your time.
  • Apply using the application form with your CV and LinkedIn profile.
  • Complete a short application survey covering your experience, communication style, and relevant account work.
  • Selected candidates join an initial conversation to discuss the role, experience, and mutual fit.
  • Strong candidates complete a paid or clearly time-bounded practical task based on realistic campaign work. It should take no more than 60–90 minutes.
  • Final conversation with the wider team.
  • Reference check, offer, and contractor agreement.
  • ### A Note About AI

We believe AI is one of the most important tools in modern marketing, and we encourage our team to use it. However, we are hiring people, not prompts.
We value original thinking, curiosity, communication, judgment, and the ability to verify and improve AI-generated work. Use AI if it helps you work better, but make sure the thinking, examples, and decisions are genuinely yours.

A Final Note

We are not looking for someone who already knows every platform. We are looking for someone who is already strong in paid media and has the curiosity, technical confidence, and ownership needed to expand beyond it.
If you enjoy solving unfamiliar problems, taking responsibility, working directly with clients, and becoming a more complete performance marketer, we would like to hear from you.
