FullStack Engineer - ESOP Basis - Noida (WFH)

NThread is an AI-powered recruiting platform that helps companies discover and evaluate talent using large-scale data and modern language models.

We are a small, early-stage team, so you will have the opportunity to work across the entire technology stack—including backend, frontend, data systems, and infrastructure.

We are currently operating lean, and the next two months are critical as we prepare for our VC round. For the initial 60 days, we expect a commitment of approximately 15–20 hours per week, with flexibility to distribute these hours from Monday to Sunday. Your primary goal will be to make the platform stable, reliable, and ready to support at least 200 users.

Following the fundraise, we intend to bring compensation closer to market levels, along with a more meaningful ESOP component - until then this role remain ESOP driven without any fixed salary

Stack
• Backend — Python, FastAPI, async SQLAlchemy, asyncpg, pydantic
• Frontend — TypeScript, Next.js, React, Zustand
• Database — PostgreSQL, self-hosted on AWS
• Infrastructure — AWS (EC2, S3), Docker, systemd

What we're looking for

• Strong Python and TypeScript. You'll work in both regularly.
• Real PostgreSQL depth — not just writing queries, but reading query plans, designing indexes, and understanding how they behave as data grows.
• Comfort owning infrastructure. Deployments, background jobs, and debugging things in production without a platform team to escalate to.
• Good judgment with messy data. Most real datasets are incomplete or inconsistent, and knowing what to verify before building on it matters.
• 4-8 years building and shipping production software.

Nice to have
• Experience with LLM-backed features in production
• Search, ranking, or information retrieval
• Working with large datasets and data pipelines
• Exposure to ML models beyond API calls

Worth knowing
• The backend is Python, not Node. If you're looking to write backend JavaScript, this isn't the right fit.
• We self-host rather than use managed platforms. Closer to owning the box than pushing to a PaaS — a deliberate choice that means more control and more responsibility.
• Small team, wide scope. You'll often help decide what gets built, not just how. That suits some people and not others.
