Senior Backend Developer (MERN)

We are looking for a skilled and motivated MERN Stack Backend Developer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the server-side logic, databases, and APIs that power our platform. As part of a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features, optimize performance, and ensure the scalability and security of our platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and Express.js.
• Integrate MongoDB for database management and implement efficient data models and queries.
• Build reusable and scalable code and libraries for future use.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to design and implement RESTful APIs that power the user interface.
• Work on user authentication, authorization, and data security.
• Optimize applications for speed and scalability.
• Ensure the responsiveness and reliability of all server-side services.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications, resolve technical issues, and provide regular maintenance.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews, contributing to team best practices and continuous improvement.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to implement new features and improve existing ones.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a backend developer using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js).
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and Express.js for building server-side logic and APIs.
• Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases, with a strong understanding of database design and optimization.
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and development practices.
• Experience with Git for version control and collaboration.
• Solid understanding of authentication mechanisms, such as JWT, OAuth, etc.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar) and deployment strategies.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and microservices architecture is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug and optimize code.
• Experience in Agile methodologies and working in an agile development environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with GraphQL.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tools.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies like React.js to understand the full stack.
