Senior LabVIEW Test Engineer

Location: Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas

Employment Type: Full-time

Work Arrangement: Remote within the DFW metroplex, with travel to customer facilities as needed

About the Role

Good Automation is seeking a Senior LabVIEW Test Engineer to develop, integrate, and support automated test and measurement systems.

In this role, you will build and maintain NI LabVIEW applications, integrate test and measurement hardware, develop intuitive user interfaces, and support data acquisition, analysis, and control systems. You will work remotely within the Dallas-Fort Worth area and travel to customer facilities for system integration, commissioning, validation, troubleshooting, training, and technical support as needed.

The ideal candidate is curious, collaborative, and comfortable solving challenging technical problems across both software and hardware environments. This role requires someone who can work independently, communicate effectively with customers and project teams, and take ownership of assignments from initial requirements through deployment and ongoing support.

Responsibilities

  • Develop LabVIEW applications for automated test, measurement, data acquisition, analysis, and control.
  • Integrate instrumentation, sensors, data acquisition devices, and other test system components into LabVIEW applications.
  • Design intuitive user interfaces for system operation, monitoring, data visualization, and analysis.
  • Collaborate with customers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements, technical objectives, and acceptance criteria.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and debug LabVIEW code and integrated test systems to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Support onsite system integration, commissioning, validation, customer training, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Maintain, enhance, and modernize existing LabVIEW applications and test systems.
  • Develop and maintain software documentation, system specifications, test procedures, configuration records, and project documentation.
  • Provide responsive technical support to customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify additional technical needs or project opportunities during customer engagements and communicate them to the appropriate internal team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, another engineering discipline, or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of professional LabVIEW programming and application development experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience integrating automated test or measurement systems.
  • Strong understanding of hardware integration, instrumentation, and data acquisition principles.
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with customers and project teams.
  • Ability to manage technical assignments from requirements definition through deployment and support.
  • Ability to travel by car to customer facilities throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area and occasionally to other locations, as required.

Certification Requirement

Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Hold an active Certified LabVIEW Developer, or CLD, certification or higher; or
  • Complete an approved CLD practice examination and submit the results before the interview.

Technical Interview Requirement

Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate LabVIEW coding on their own computer and share their screen during the interview. The exercise will help us evaluate practical coding ability, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

Location and Travel

This is a remote position for candidates who are located in, or willing to relocate to, the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Employees will primarily work from home but must be available to travel to customer facilities for onsite integration, commissioning, training, and support.

Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Schedule
