Senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) Functional Consultant

About the Role

*We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) Functional Consultant with strong expertise in Finance modules and successful delivery of multiple end-to-end ERP implementations. The ideal candidate should possess excellent business consulting capabilities, stakeholder management skills, and hands-on experience translating business requirements into scalable D365 F&O solutions.

This is a client-facing consulting role requiring close collaboration with business users, solution architects, and technical development teams throughout the project lifecycle.

*Key Responsibilities
*

• Lead business requirement gathering workshops with client stakeholders.
• Analyze current business processes and recommend best practices using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
• Design functional solutions aligned with business objectives and standard D365 capabilities.
• Prepare comprehensive functional documentation including:
• Business Requirement Documents (BRD)
• Functional Design Documents (FDD)
• Process Flow Diagrams
• User Stories
• Gap Analysis
• Configure and implement D365 Finance modules.
• Collaborate with technical consultants and developers for customizations, integrations, workflows, reports, and extensions. Support data migration activities and validation. Prepare test scenarios and execute: System Integration Testing (SIT) User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Regression Testing Conduct end-user training sessions. Support Go-Live planning, production deployment, Hypercare, and post-implementation support. Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders throughout the implementation lifecycle. Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards, timelines, and client expectations.

Mandatory Skills

• 6–10 years of Functional Consulting experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX / Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
• Minimum 2–3 complete end-to-end Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementation projects.

• Strong expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance modules including:

  • General Ledger (GL)
  • Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Fixed Assets (FA)
  • Cash & Bank Management
  • Budgeting

• Strong experience in:

  • Requirement Gathering
  • Business Process Analysis
  • Functional Solution Design
  • Functional Documentation
  • Client Workshops
  • Gap Analysis

• Experience working closely with technical/development teams during customization and implementation.

• Hands-on experience in SIT, UAT, Regression Testing, Go-Live, and Hypercare support.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall project environments.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Project Management & Accounting module.
• Exposure to Power Platform is an advantage.
• Understanding of integrations with third-party systems.
• Experience working with global implementations is preferred.
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications are highly desirable.

Educational Qualification

• MBA (Finance)
• Chartered Accountant (CA)
• Postgraduate in Finance or equivalent qualification

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate
• Microsoft Dynamics AX Certifications
• Any relevant Microsoft ERP certifications

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be a seasoned Functional Consultant with extensive experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementations, excellent consulting and client-facing skills, and proven expertise in Finance modules. Candidates who have independently handled workshops, solution design, testing, and successful Go-Live support will be preferred.
