Venture Architect / Startup Lead

About

Take multiple internal startups from paper to first investment, with equity in what you build. You receive ventures at startup-on-paper stage from our Venture Development Lead and drive them through build, validation, and incubation to their first cheque.

20 h/week, fully remote contract, $90K FTE benchmark

The role

You build the internal startups our system-change contracts call for. You work through our internal venture development platform — specifically the development lab (product build) and the incubation lab (operations, validation, early traction) — assembling and leading venture teams, orchestrating multiple ventures in parallel, and holding equity in what you build.

What you'll do

• Take over internal ventures at the startup-on-paper handoff and lead them to first investment
• Build through the platform: product creation in the development lab, and validation, operations, and early traction in the incubation lab
• Assemble and lead venture teams from our community and founder-internship pipeline
• Run every venture through the testing programme, feeding what you learn to the Methods Lead and Venture Development Lead so your learnings are preserved

What success looks like

At least one venture past first-investment readiness, and documented actual-vs-model cost per venture.

Must-haves

• Founder experience, serial or project-based — you know 0→1 from the inside, preferably in human-potential technologies
• Prior experience as a venture architect or entrepreneur-in-residence at a studio or venture builder
• Deep domain expertise and background in human-potential technologies (mental health, edtech, self-development, behavioural tech, human-centred AI)
• Proven ability to coordinate and orchestrate multiple projects at once, and to lead teams

Nice-to-haves

• Fluent in product, business, and marketing language
• Fast learner across the ins and outs of early-stage venture building
• Natural pace-setter: keeps people motivated and momentum high
