Senior Full-Stack Engineer / Technical Lead – UK Health Tech

Lonura is an early-stage UK clinic business looking for a senior, hands-on engineer to help shape and deliver its initial technology platform.

This is not a conventional role with a finished specification. We need someone who can understand the patient and clinic workflow, make pragmatic build-versus-buy decisions, select appropriate healthcare technology, and build the connective layer between established systems.

What you’ll do

• Map the end-to-end patient and operational journey

• Recommend the appropriate technical architecture and third-party systems

• Design and implement secure API integrations across intake, booking, payments and clinical systems

• Create a simple operational dashboard for clinic staff

• Build or supervise an initial prototype using synthetic data

• Establish sound foundations for security, privacy, auditability and future scale

• Produce a costed technical roadmap for subsequent development

What we’re looking for

• Strong full-stack product-development experience

• Significant experience designing and implementing APIs and system integrations

• Good architectural judgement and the ability to keep an early product simple

• Experience handling sensitive or regulated data

• Practical knowledge of UK GDPR, cloud security and access controls

• Comfortable using modern AI-assisted development tools while maintaining robust engineering standards

• Able to communicate technical choices clearly to non-technical founders

Desirable

• UK health-tech or digital-health experience

• Experience integrating with clinical, booking or patient-management systems

• Familiarity with NHS requirements, DTAC, DSPT, FHIR, HL7 or DCB0129

• Previous experience as a founding engineer, technical lead or solutions architect

Engagement

Initial three-month contract at approximately 1–2 days per week, remote within the UK, with the possibility of extending. Indicative rate of £600–£750 per day depending on experience.

The initial objective is to validate the architecture and deliver one secure, working end-to-end journey—not to build a complete electronic health-record system.
