Role Summary Customer-facing technical lead for high-speed SerDes/interconnect bring-up, link tuning, performance optimization, and complex issue debugging. Owns system characterization and root-cause isolation across SerDes/HW/FW/system boundaries with minimal supervision, and serves as the primary bridge between customers and internal SerDes IP/firmware/validation/system teams. Key Responsibilities

• Lead customer SerDes bring-up, tuning, validation, and advanced debug end-to-end.
• Tune SerDes/link parameters to improve stability, BER, and operating margin; analyze link training and equalization behavior.
• Correlate SerDes params, telemetry, registers, FW logs, and lab measurements to identify bottlenecks/failure mechanisms.
• Define and execute structured debug/characterization plans across channels, configurations, and operating conditions.
• Drive root-cause isolation and closure; recommend tuning strategies, FW configs, and workarounds.
• Provide actionable feedback to internal teams to improve SerDes performance, firmware, methodologies, and future products.
• Maintain bring-up/tuning/debug guides and technical documentation; support customer evaluations and deployment.

Main Requirements and Qualifications

• Required Qualifications
• 8+ years (10+ preferred) in SerDes/high-speed serial, system engineering, post-silicon validation, or customer-facing app/system roles.
• Strong hands-on SerDes bring-up: link training, equalization, parameter tuning, optimization.
• Deep understanding of channel loss/jitter/EQ/BER/eye/margin; strong independent system debug skills.
• Experience with telemetry/logs/registers + high-speed lab equipment (scope, BERT); Ethernet/interconnect experience preferred.
• Strong customer communication; able to lead decisions and drive closure with minimal supervision.
• Preferred
• Advanced EQ tuning (FFE/CTLE/DFE/CDR), margin analysis, SI characterization.
• Familiar with VNA/TDR/protocol analyzers; networking platforms/switch systems.
• Automation/scripts (Python/Tcl/MATLAB); proven ability to translate customer findings into IP/FW/silicon improvements. Salary range: $142,000 - $244,000 annually.
  

Employee may be eligible for performance bonus, short and long term incentive programs. Actual total compensation will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience and qualifications.
