About the job

About Troopod
AI-native ecommerce growth partner. CRO consulting and design/development for 50+ D2C brands across India, UK, and USA: Colgate, Tanishq, Essor, BSC. Scaling to 200 clients. Building the delivery infrastructure to make that work.

What you'll own

  1. Client projects end to end — PRD, build, QA, deploy, handoff. One person accountable from brief to live site. That's you.
  2. Write the PRD before you write code: section breakdown, component list, device scope, interaction behaviour, acceptance criteria. Precise enough that an AI agent can build from it and precise enough that you can verify the output against it.
  3. Build it. Production Shopify and frontend code, daily. AI does the volume, you do the judgment.
  4. Own the AI workflow itself: what gets delegated to agents, what context they need to get it right, where they consistently fail, what stays manual. Every project should make the next one faster.
  5. QA your own work against Figma before it reaches the client: pixel fidelity, interactions, mobile, CMS output. No one downstream is catching your misses.
  6. Own the deployment workflow: pre-deploy checklists, staging-to-production parity, client sign-off sequencing.
  7. Turn what works into reusable assets — component patterns, spec templates, prompt scaffolds, checklists — so project 20 ships in a fraction of the time project 2 took.
  8. Scope estimates and delivery commitments alongside leadership before projects are sold. Then hit them.
  9. Diagnose your recurring failures and fix them at the root: workflow level, not per-project patches.

What we're looking for

  1. Portfolio over years. Show us live Shopify and web builds you personally built end to end. What you've shipped matters more than how long you've been shipping.
  2. You write production frontend code daily: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Shopify Liquid. Not reviewing it. Writing it.
  3. Deep Shopify platform knowledge: sections, metafields, APIs, app integrations, checkout logic. You know what's feasible, what's complex, and what's being overcomplicated.
  4. You build with AI seriously — agentic coding tools, not autocomplete. You can explain exactly what you delegate, how you set up context, where the agents break, and how you catch it. "I ask ChatGPT sometimes" is not this role.
  5. You have personally written PRDs, specs, or Statements of Work for large web or ecommerce builds. Not Jira tickets. Authored the document that defined what gets built. You can share one.
  6. Figma-literate enough to QA a live site against design files independently: every spacing, interaction, mobile, and CMS gap, without the designer in the room.
  7. Agency-side experience. Multi-client, tight-turnaround pace. Product company experience alone doesn't prepare you for this. The distinction matters.
  8. Process-minded in practice. You've built a QA workflow, pre-deploy checklist, or template system from scratch. Verbal handoffs and tribal knowledge bother you.
  9. Clear communicator across every layer: CSM brief in, live site out, client-facing update when needed, nothing lost at any step.

What we offer

  1. Meaningful ESOPs. You're joining at the inflection point, scaling from 50 to 200+ clients.
  2. Direct access to founders. No layers, no politics.
  3. A specific, well-defined problem to own from day one. Not an ambiguous brief.
  4. You define what AI-native delivery actually means here. The workflow you build becomes how a 200-client agency ships.
