Data Operations Executive - Internship

Who are we?
At Affinity Answers, we call ourselves a consumer data company finding affinities that you have towards a brand (although it is a lot more complex than that). If you have seen ads when you visit some websites, it is likely that we have played a part in deciding if you have an affinity towards the advertiser’s brand.
We are a decade-plus old company based out of Austin, Texas, with our engineering center in Bangalore (now spread across India).

Whom are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who gets things done.
Not someone waiting for perfectly written requirements. Not someone who needs step-by-step instructions. But someone who can look at a messy situation involving data, vendors, and deadlines—and still move things forward.
This role sits at the intersection of data, operations, and people. You will be the glue that ensures data actually moves—from vendors to us, from us to customers—correctly, on time, and without drama.
If you have common sense, a bit of curiosity about numbers, and the ability to operate in ambiguity—you’ll do well here.

What will you do?

• Measure and monitor key metrics on datasets (completeness, consistency, sanity checks)
• Coordinate with vendors for data delivery and follow-ups (yes, persistence matters)
• Ensure smooth delivery of data to customers (timeliness and accuracy are non-negotiable)
• Work closely with Data Analysts and Data Engineers to understand what “good data” looks like

What skill set is essential for this role?
Let’s keep this real—this is not a “tools-first” role.

• Common sense – you’ll use this more than any tool
• Ability to get things done despite lack of clarity – ambiguity is the default state
• Comfort with numbers – you should be able to look at data and sense when something is off
• Basic spreadsheet skills – enough to analyze and sanity-check data

Bonus (not mandatory):

• Basic SQL knowledge
• Educational Qualification
• BCA, B.Com or equivalent (We care more about how you think than what you studied.)

How long is the internship?
For a period of 6 months . This is a full- time internship, that means it is not 2 days a week or half day every day. At present it is remote but you have to be in the India time zone between 9:30am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
