QA Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer to join the Ozi team. You will own the quality of our web and mobile applications end to end - from writing test cases and executing manual test cycles to building and maintaining automation suites. You’ll work closely with developers, product managers, and designers to ship fast without breaking things.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, write, and execute detailed manual test cases, test plans, and test scenarios for web and mobile applications.
2. Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing across releases.
3. Build and maintain automation test suites for web and mobile applications.
4. Perform API testing and validate request/response contracts, error handling, and edge cases.
5. Conduct integration and backend testing to ensure data consistency across services.
6. Log, track, and verify defects with clear reproduction steps; work with developers to drive them to closure.
7. Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and release sign-offs.
8. Continuously improve QA processes, test coverage, and release quality metrics.

Must-Have Skills

1. 2–3 years of hands-on experience in software testing (manual + automation)
2. Strong fundamentals in manual testing — test design techniques, defect life cycle, STLC/SDLC
3. Experience with automation testing using Java + Selenium
4. Hands-on experience with API testing (Postman, REST Assured, or similar)
5. Experience with integration testing and backend/database testing (SQL queries for data validation)
6. Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools (Jira, TestRail, or similar)
7. Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
8. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear written communication

Good to Have (Big Plus)

1. Experience testing quick commerce / hyperlocal delivery applications (order flows, inventory, payments, real-time tracking, delivery partner apps) — this is a big plus
2. Mobile automation experience with Appium (Android/iOS)
3. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and running automated suites in CI
4. Basic knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter)
5. Experience with version control (Git)
