Video / Streaming Engineer (DRM & Encoding)

Enflix is a mobile app for short vertical dramas made for India.

You will own the video pipeline end to end: encoding, packaging, DRM, delivery, and the native player integration. You keep it fast, cheap, and reliable as we scale, working with the CTO and the Tech Lead who integrate your native modules.

What you'll do

• Build the FFmpeg encoding pipeline (HEVC primary, H.264 fallback, AV1 additive; HLS output) on GCP, triggered on upload
• Package and encrypt with Shaka Packager for Widevine (CENC) and FairPlay (cbcs)
• Run self hosted DRM license servers on Cloud Run that check subscription tier and return keys
• Deliver via Cloudflare R2 and Workers with signed URLs and edge caching
• Build the native players bridged into Flutter: ExoPlayer (Widevine L1/L3) on Android, AVPlayer (FairPlay) on iOS
• Build encrypted, time bound offline downloads

Must have

• Shipped a production HLS pipeline with Widevine and FairPlay DRM
• Strong with FFmpeg (HEVC and H.264; AV1 a plus)
• Shaka Packager or equivalent (Bento4, MP4Box)
• Native mobile depth: Kotlin/ExoPlayer and Swift/AVPlayer with DRM sessions
• Production GCP experience (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage)

Nice to have

• Cloudflare R2 and Workers
• HLS tuning on Indian mobile networks
• Flutter platform channel integration
