Founding Engineer

Role Description As a Founding Engineer at SproutMe, you will design, build, and maintain core systems that power our autonomous AI marketing platform. You will work closely with the founders to define technical architecture, choose key technologies, and develop end-to-end features from concept to production. Daily responsibilities include writing high-quality, scalable code, integrating AI models and data pipelines, setting up testing and deployment workflows, and monitoring system performance and reliability. You will collaborate cross-functionally to translate product requirements into technical solutions, participate in code reviews, and help establish engineering best practices and culture. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Sunnyvale, CA.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering skills, including proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, or Java) and experience building production-grade backend services or APIs.
• Experience with system design and architecture, including microservices, distributed systems, or event-driven architectures, and familiarity with performance, scalability, and reliability considerations.
• Practical knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
• Background in data-intensive applications, such as integrating data pipelines, working with relational and NoSQL databases, and handling analytics or model-driven workflows.
• Exposure to machine learning or AI-driven products, including integrating models into production systems, working with ML frameworks, or using third-party AI services.
• Ability to work in an early-stage environment, taking ownership of projects, making pragmatic technical decisions, and contributing to both product and engineering strategy.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with non-technical stakeholders and contribute to a respectful, inclusive team culture.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; startup or founding team experience is a plus.
