Junior Software Developer (MES Support)

*Role Description: * This is a full-time remote role for a Junior Software Developer on our MES (Manufacturing Execution System) team. You will provide remote technical support for manufacturing plants by investigating production issues, resolving application bugs, developing small enhancements, and ensuring the smooth operation of MES applications. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong programming foundation who enjoys problem-solving and wants to build a career in industrial software and manufacturing technology. Experience: 0–2 years. Occasional travel to customer or plant locations may be required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide remote technical support for issues reported from manufacturing plants.
• Investigate, debug, and resolve MES application issues.
• Develop bug fixes and implement small feature enhancements.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for troubleshooting and data analysis.
• Collaborate with senior developers, QA teams, and plant users to understand and resolve issues.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs.
• Participate in code reviews and follow coding standards.
• Test fixes before deployment to production environments.
• Maintain technical documentation and issue logs.
• Monitor application health and identify recurring issues for long-term improvements.

Qualifications:

• Strong foundation in Python (must have).
• Good knowledge of SQL (MySQL preferred).
• Experience with Flask or FastAPI.
• Good understanding of Git/GitHub.
• Basic understanding of REST APIs.
• Strong debugging and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Basic knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Familiarity with JSON and API integrations.
• Good communication skills for remote collaboration.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in Python development (freshers with strong projects are encouraged to apply).
• Internship or personal projects using Python, Flask/FastAPI, and SQL.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Ownership mindset and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and resolve production issues efficiently.

Preferred/Desired Skills:

• Docker.
• Linux/Ubuntu environment.
• Redis.
• MySQL optimization and database design.
• CI/CD basics (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
• Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) knowledge.
• SAP integration exposure.
• Logging and monitoring tools.
• Barcode/QR code-based manufacturing systems.
