Technical Co‑Partner (Head of Product & Technology) — Ishay Gurukula Pvt Ltd

Location: Bengaluru (hybrid), India. Immediate joiner required.

Role summary
We are seeking an experienced Technical Co‑Partner to lead product and technology for Ishay Gurukula — an early-stage education‑tech company building AI‑driven learning products. The Technical Co‑Partner will own product technology strategy, architecture, development, and delivery, work as an executive peer to the founding team, and drive the company from prototype to scalable SaaS. The role requires immediate availability and a long‑term commitment to the company’s mission and values.
Compensation & terms
Equity: 10% equity in Ishay Gurukula Pvt Ltd in exchange for a capital contribution of INR 4.5 crore to the company.
Role: Executive/co‑founder level (title: Technical Co‑Partner / Head of Product & Technology).
Joining: Immediate (start within 2 weeks preferred).
Other: Standard co‑founder vesting, shareholder agreement, and founders’ protections to be documented in the definitive investment and shareholders’ agreements.
Key responsibilities
Product strategy & roadmap: Translate company vision into a prioritized product roadmap for AI‑powered learning products and SaaS offerings.
Technical leadership: Own architecture decisions (model stack, APIs, data platform, deployment, and security), design scalable SaaS infrastructure, and ensure high availability and data privacy.
Build & ship: Lead engineering teams (in‑house and contractors), set engineering processes (CI/CD, code review, QA), and drive accelerated MVP-to-market delivery.
AI capabilities: Lead design and implementation of core AI features (LLM integration, fine‑tuning, vector search, retrieval, personalization, ML ops), and maintain technical fluency on model choices and cost/performance tradeoffs.
Team hiring & mentoring: Recruit, retain, and mentor engineers, data scientists, and product engineers; establish engineering culture and growth paths.
Business & fundraising support: Act as technical co‑founder in investor conversations, due diligence, and product demos; align tech decisions to business goals and unit economics.
Compliance & governance: Ensure data governance, security posture, and compliance with applicable regulations and ethical guidelines for educational products.
Values & leadership: Represent Ishay Gurukula’s cultural values and lead by example in cross‑functional collaboration.
Required qualifications
Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with demonstrable leadership roles in AI and SaaS product development.
Proven track record building and scaling SaaS products (ideally education‑tech or related domains).
Deep hands‑on experience with modern LLMs and AI tooling (model integration, fine‑tuning, vector databases, retrieval systems, MLOps pipelines).
Strong software engineering background (back‑end, API design, cloud deployments, data engineering, and security).
Experience hiring and leading engineering and data teams, and setting up engineering processes at early‑stage startups.
Immediate availability to join and commit to an executive leadership role.
Comfortable with founder‑level ambiguity, rapid iteration, and long‑horizon product building.

Prior founder/co‑founder or early executive experience in startups.
Experience with EdTech product design, pedagogy-aware AI, or multilingual product deployments (including Kannada).
Familiarity with Indian regulatory environment for education and data privacy.
