The Mission
For decades, progress in complex computer systems has relied primarily on human ingenuity. We are building an AI-powered systems engineer that helps experts design and optimize the next generation of computing infrastructure.
Our product goes far beyond a traditional assistant. It is a multi-agent system that reasons, experiments, and analyzes much like an experienced engineering team—turning weeks of manual systems research and optimization into hours of high-quality output.
Founded by accomplished systems researchers and engineers, our early-stage company is built on years of award-winning research. We are well funded by leading venture firms and technology executives, gaining traction with major customers, and expanding our engineering organization.
*About the Role *
- We’re hiring Applied AI Researchers who are experts in agentic AI, inference optimization, and new approaches to context engineering. This is a deeply technical role focused on advancing the reasoning and discovery engine behind Glia. The goal is to transform computer systems design and optimization with AI.
*What You’ll Do *
- Research and develop new agentic AI approaches for system design, inference optimization, and performance reasoning.
- Discover and validate novel algorithms, including for request routing, scheduling, parallelization, GPU allocation, etc.
- Translate research insights into production-grade components of the Glia platform.
- Build prototypes rapidly—run experiments, gather feedback, integrate results.
- Work closely with founders and engineering team on shaping research direction, system abstractions, and long-term roadmap.
- Engage with early users to understand real-world workloads and optimization needs.
- Contribute to architecture, tooling, and engineering standards as part of a small early team.
*What We’re Looking For *
- We’re looking for people with strong AI research skills and a deep curiosity about emerging areas in agentic AI and inference optimization**.
*Strong signals include: *
- Expertise in modern AI, AI agents, and architectures for agentic systems
- Expertise in reasoning agents, MCP server design, and/or coding agent design
- Expertise in context engineering and developing agentic systems on large codebases and technical document corpora
- Ability to design experiments, validate new ideas quickly, and reason from first principles
- PhD or equivalent with a strong research background in the relevant areas Bonus:
- Experience in research-heavy environments (quant research, top AI labs, AI/ML R&D organizations)
- Hunger to work on new, unsolved problems to apply AI to complex computer systems
- Dislike for rigid bureaucratic engineering processes, but appreciation for disciplined engineering rigor. * **
*Why Join Glia AI? *
- Strong pedigree: Work alongside a team of renowned experts in AI-driven systems. ● Massive impact: Our technology has demonstrated the ability to achieve significant improvements in long-running engineering research and design tasks spanning
- performance engineering, model pipeline development, and cost optimization.. ● Robust financials: Our seed round ($13.5M) closed in September 2025; we’re backed by top-tier VC firms (Pillar, E14, and Neotribe), as well as luminaries like Jeff Dean, Ion Stoica, Aparna Chennapragada, Nick McKeown, Srinivas Narayanan, and more. We are in the midst of multiple paid PoCs with marquee customers.
- Solving hard problems: We are solving the fundamental bottlenecks of the AI revolution: quality, performance, and cost.
- Applied AI Researcher Outbound — Non Technical Version Subject: Drive Agentic Research @Glia **
