The Role

With the continued growth of our products, we are excited to open up the position of Early Engineer; you will be the first non-founding engineering hire and will have a direct impact on the technical decisionmaking and implementation of our growing suite of products. The ideal candidate will be prepared to support the CTO in maintaining and improving the product and assisting team members with any technical challenges.

Location

The role is remote, but we would prefer a candidate with the ability to come into one of our offices once a week or once every other week. Our preferred location for a candidate is in Durham, NC or surrounding areas in the Research Triangle. Our secondary preferred location is the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Who you are:

• Software engineer with 3+ years of building production-level software applications
• Professional experience maintaining or building backend software systems in Python and/or Go
• Exposure to frontend web applications built on React/NextJS, with a preference for Typescript
• Strong understanding of relational databases and ability to interact with data in both Postgres and MySQL
• Open-minded, kind and hard-working

Bonus qualifications:

• Previous experience on a small, fast-moving engineering team
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure systems like AWS or Google Cloud
• Academic or professional experiencing in machine learning and AI models
• A “yes and…” mindset, very valuable for experimenting and building new things!

Note on process: Our interview pathway for this process will include initial screenings, a live technical interview and multiple cultural- and interest-fit interviews.

Role Reports to: Brian Z. Sokas, Founder & CTO

Offered compensation and benefits:
$105,000 - 120,000 salary, depending on experience
401k
