Behavioral Research + Wellness Intern

Sixth Wall is an AI-integrated design and human performance firm based in Tampa, Florida, operating at the intersection of interior design, behavioral science, somatic methodology, and AI-integrated research systems. We don't decorate spaces: we engineer environments that actively change how people think, perform, rest, and move through their lives.

Our methodology, Life.Style Alchemy, synthesizes research across behavioral neuroscience, nervous system science, and environmental psychology into a proprietary framework currently in development for public launch. Every intern who joins this cohort contributes directly to that infrastructure: their research, documents, and systems become the curriculum itself.

Sixth Wall is a registered Florida LLC. This is not a traditional internship. It is a founding-era contribution.

About This Role

This intern builds the research foundation for Life.Style Alchemy: Sixth Wall's proprietary human performance methodology. The work compiles, annotates, and synthesizes research across behavioral neuroscience, somatic science, nervous system regulation, environmental psychology, and ancient wellness frameworks into structured documents that become the intellectual backbone of the program. This is not a summary internship. It is building a research library that did not exist before this cohort arrived.

What You'll Build

• Annotated research compilations across behavioral neuroscience, somatic science, and environmental psychology: organized by topic, framework, and source credibility tier
• A cross-referenced reference document mapping connections between ancient wellness systems and modern behavioral science: structured for internal use
• A curated source library including academic citations, practitioner frameworks, and field research: tagged and searchable in Airtable
• Written summaries translating complex research into Sixth Wall's client-facing voice: Founder reviews and edits; the intern produces the draft
• An ongoing research brief updated weekly with relevant new publications, studies, and practitioner insights

What You'll Learn

• Research synthesis across interdisciplinary frameworks: connecting bodies of knowledge that don't typically communicate
• How a proprietary methodology is built from source research: the infrastructure layer most practitioners never access
• AI-assisted research at an advanced level: using Claude and other tools to compile, analyze, and structure large research sets
• Airtable database architecture for knowledge management systems
• The relationship between environment and nervous system function: a framework that applies beyond this engagement

What We're Looking For

• Currently pursuing a degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Public Health, Integrative Wellness, Social Work, or a related field: sophomore year or above
• Reads research outside assigned curriculum: follows threads from curiosity, not requirement
• Comfortable with research that crosses conventional academic boundaries: our methodology includes documented science and frameworks that predate modern academic categorization, treated with equal rigor
• Able to hold complexity without demanding it resolve into a single framework
• Demonstrates writing precision: can take a dense source and produce a clear, specific, accurate synthesis
• Experience with somatic, integrative, or energetic wellness frameworks is a significant plus
• An experiential rather than theoretical understanding that space is not neutral and that environment actively shapes human experience

• Academic database access through school library: JSTOR, PubMed, PsycINFO
• Zotero or equivalent citation management: plus

About the Program

Remote, Zoom-based, Fall 2026 academic calendar. Tuesday and Thursday Crits, 12:00–1:15 PM ET. These session times are the standard schedule: if there is a conflict with your academic timetable, note it in your application and we will work to accommodate. Weekly hour commitment is not fixed: it is determined by your school's specific academic credit policy for internships, which varies by institution and sometimes by department. Academic credit: 3 semester credits through your institution's off-campus internship registration.
