About the Role:
We are seeking a Lead Autonomous Systems & Robotics Engineer to transition Drivo Bot from high-fidelity 3D simulation to a fully operational, real-world 8x8 autonomous delivery robot. You will own the entire autonomy stack and be responsible for the actual deployment of software onto physical hardware.
What You Will Do:
- Full Autonomy Architecture: Design and implement the autonomous driving system using ROS 2 (Humble/Jazzy) and Nav2 for our 8x8 skid-steer chassis.
- Perception & Sensor Fusion: Integrate and calibrate real-world sensors (3D LiDAR, stereoscopic depth cameras, IMU, and wheel encoders) into a robust localization and mapping (SLAM) pipeline.
- Simulation to Reality (Sim2Real): Develop a high-fidelity Gazebo/Webots simulation to validate motion planning, and successfully port and flash that software onto the physical NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin onboard computer.
- Hardware Integration & Low-Level Control: Bridge the high-level ROS 2 Nav2 commands (/cmd_vel) with low-level motor controllers (VESC/CAN bus) to actuate the 8 in-wheel hub motors in real-world environments.
- Fleet & App Connectivity: Collaborate with our cloud team to link the robot's real-time navigation status with our web/mobile delivery application APIs via 4G/5G.
Requirements:
- Proven experience deploying ROS/ROS 2 systems on physical, real-world autonomous robots or autonomous vehicles.
- Deep understanding of hardware communication protocols (CAN bus, Serial, Ethernet, USB).
- Mastery of C++ and Python within Linux/Ubuntu environments.
- Experience with NVIDIA Jetson hardware acceleration and JetPack SDK.
- Strong problem-solving skills for debugging real-world hardware/software edge cases.
