About the Role
You'll be the first or second engineer on the team. That means you own the full journey from scoping what to build to shipping it for real customers. Half your job is designing and deploying AI agents and LLM-powered features; the other half is building the product infrastructure they run on. You'll work directly with the founder, with real influence over product, architecture and how we scale.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and ship multi-agent systems that automate real trade workflows - document processing, compliance checks, buyer-supplier matching, credit assessment, and logistics coordination
2. Build full-stack product features end-to-end: APIs, data pipelines, and interfaces that traders actually use
3. Own prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and LLM orchestration across providers
4. Instrument, evaluate, and iterate on AI outputs - reliability matters as much as capability
5. Make build-vs-buy calls, pick the right tools, and move fast without creating unmaintainable debt

What We're Looking For

Must Have

1. 3+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 1 year building production LLM or AI agent systems 2.Strong full-stack skills - comfortable owning backend (Python or Node) and shipping usable frontends
2. Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG, and agent frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or similar)
3. A bias for building: prototype fast, ship, then improve
4. Comfort with ambiguity - the spec is often "here's the problem, figure it out"

Strong Plus

• Experience in trade, logistics, fintech, or any regulated cross-border domain Background at an early-stage startup or as a founder
• Familiarity with document understanding - OCR, extraction, classification Experience with workflow automation tools (n8n, Zapier, or custom orchestration)
